I always come back to The Southern Raiders as one of the best, if not the best, episode(s) of the series. A lot of people find Ember Island Players a skippable filler episode, but tbh if anything I will usually skip the S1 episode with the rival clans and Nightmares and Daydreams before I skip this one. P.S. Trust me, the name whiplash is there for me too because one of my current ongoing dnd characters also has an alternately spelled version of your name -- which I'm not sure I've mentioned or not -- and I constantly have to keep the spellings straight in my head lol.

I'm not sure if you caught it or not, but my favorite part of Ember Island Players will always be, "Did Jet just die?" / "...You know, it was really unclear." And that's as much "confirmation" as we ever get. 😭

Omg the scene with the mom I was tearing up and then the dad called your name and I started laughing out loud while also crying 😂 Part of me is like I’ll never get over zutara, and then another part of me is like the both of them might be too emotional/easily angered to be together cuz Zuko was definitely on board with killing that guy haha

The way I consumed quite a bit of Zutara fanfiction before because the parallels between them and just their overall chemistry was amazing. 🥹 I think I'll always have a soft spot for that ship until the end of time tbh. It felt like the main writers (The Ehasz's—at the time i think they were married) wanted ZK, but the creators wanted KA. If we ever got a season 4, who knows where it might have all went. The Boiling Rock and The Southern Raiders are two of my faves from the series overall just because it was Zuko just really trying to fit in and reconcile with the team (mostly the water tribe siblings but). So happy that these episodes were saved from the whole vidyard situation recently. 🥹
