If you expect all groups to do this, not only will it lessen your enjoyment of those groups, but you're basically saying everyone needs to be as good as the best or they're not good enough. That's not how art works. I will say though, the industry as a whole should focus on the singing-while-dancing skill so much more. I believe there are other, very talented idols that could do this if it was a central part of their training. But before that's even possible they need to stop starving themselves. It really doesn't help that live singing is often faked as well, with a backtrack that is an alternate recording.. but I've seen many reactors and fans who can't tell that there is no or very little live singing even if it's 100% studio audio and lackluster lip syncing. So it's doubtful that most fans can even appreciate real live singing properly. Even worse, we get hate trains when people compare raw but imperfect live singing to fake live singing, so some companies figure, why even risk it? You never quite know how much is real in online content, as obsessed with artificial perfection as the K-pop industry is. So when I went to see NMIXX live, I had really high expectations. I've seen a bunch of groups live and will see a bunch more this year, and let me tell you, I was not prepared. They do have some backing track (or additional layers) like everyone else, but you can hear the real live singing at all times and it's insanity. They do this for five songs in a row, transitioning from one song to the next without stopping. Judging by other groups, I did not believe this level of performance was humanly possible. What really got me was the level of intensity of both dancing and singing, not compromising one for the other. They are absolute machines, especially Kyujin and Sullyoon. So much power. And as if all that wasn't enough, Lily lets Bae do one of her high notes for fun. Everyone was already shocked by Lily after the soundcheck. What a privilege it was to see this group live up close.
