With this comeback Hwang Sooyeon was the Creative Director for the project as well as their Performance Director and Choreographer and she posted up an interesting little insight piece when the Tuesday performance dropped talking about what she wanted to achieve and show with the piece and it's relationship to Gene. I thought you might be interested as well so here's a translated version of the original "유아유(UAU) ✧ T u e s d a y ✧ ‘Tuesday’ explores a relationship built on attraction that never quite grows into something deeper. I wanted to capture the tension between familiarity, excitement, and emptiness, reimagining those emotions through the atmosphere of a midsummer night thriller. Together, 'GENE' and 'Tuesday' were conceived as a connected series. If 'GENE' represents a midsummer day, 'Tuesday' represents the night— two contrasting emotional landscapes existing within the same season, each with its own visual temperature. The visual direction intentionally separates the identity of the two tracks. While 'GENE' embraces a refined, polished aesthetic, 'Tuesday' takes a more experimental approach, using bold colors and unconventional compositions to visualize the subtle tension and discomfort that exist within the relationship. For the performance video, I reinterpreted the song through a thriller-inspired lens by incorporating unconventional lighting and camera angles rarely seen in performance films. Rather than portraying romance directly, I wanted to express the growing tension and addictive pull of a relationship that repeats itself, all within the atmosphere of a midsummer night."
