The script writer wrote this script as an original script as far as I know. There is a webtoon of the same name, but that's an adaptation of this, not the other way round.

My understanding is the same as the other commenter that it was an original script, not an adaptation. If I remember correctly, though, the script *was* originally a romance. Ga-on’s character was written as a woman at first, I believe. So when they cast Jinyoung, the more overt romantic elements got stripped from the script, but the heart of it stayed. Again, though, my memory could be faulty and/or just fully wrong lol

For something that's not explicitly BL, this is SO BL-coded hahaha. That whole sequence of Ga-On waking up in the mansion was right out of a gothic romance. And I would LOVE to visit that house, it's so gorgeous. I'm also pretty sure Yi-sak (Yohan's older bro) is an alternate spelling of Isaac? Because the names in that family are all Bible-based. i.e. Elijah
