Léa

the beginning of tgcf (heaven officials blessing) is a LOT of building for the rest of the story, but if I'm being honest it would be a while for all the books to be adapted in anime as it will need around 8 seasons (and if one day the live action that has been filmed 5 years ago will finally be airing ) so if after watching the s2 you want more you can go check the books, it's kinda long but its so worth it, tgcf is one of my favorite books ever, and it's easier to understand all the world building and characters since you can read it all directly, if you like it now you will LOVE the what's coming next

Pluto

I like the story telling of Heaven Offical' blessing because when you first meet Xie Lien you think (oh he's so calm and kind) and then only as you learn about him you think (oh he's deeply traumatized)

I can’t even truthfully say he killed him. The king was already dying. The prince sped up his death? To prevent ANOTHER war massacring the Xienle people that made them refugees in the first place?

Katie-Didn’t

Definitely called it on Hua Cheng thinking he was defending Xie Lian without considering if he’d actually be happy about it. I REALLY didn’t think that would end well.
