So the thing about K Planet versus C Planet is that there was originally supposed to be two separate shows running alongside one another - one to make a Korean group and another to make a Chinese group. To my knowledge, last minute the funding for the Chinese show fell through (I think maybe one of the production partners left or something? I can’t quite remember) and so they decided to have the different K and C planets join after two episodes each in order to make one joint group (they ended up making the Chinese group after on a sequel show, anyways lol). Because of this strange format the show goes back and forth between K planet and C planet for the first four episodes with entirely different production crews for each planet, resulting in a strangely disjointed and inconsistent beginning to the overall show. Basically K planet consists of people from all over (except from China) and C planet consists of Chinese contestants plus a few people of other ethnicities (which I imagine would’ve made more sense had they continued with the separate shows). Also something to note: because of all the mess regarding production, the trainees from C Planet believed going into this that they would be in a Chinese group promoting in China - naturally, not a lot of them were prepared to suddenly be thrown into a Korean survival show. This kind of makes the whole thing, well, super messy and kind of evil on mnet’s part (but what’s new there).

Soobin's Abs

There are some non Korean participants in planet k. In planet c (which they'll show in another episode) are mostly Chinese guys. If I remember correctly, they could choose if k or c and I guess the ones speaking at least decent Korean decided to go to planet k.

There are a lot of things in this show that they just explain so poorly. when they say that all one stars are going to be eliminated, they really don't mean that literally. Only the zero stars are eliminated from the judges decisions, and the rest of the eliminations are decided solely from the fan votes. imo the stars basically mean nothing after the first mission. but you'll see during the next few episodes they continuously say that "all one stars will be eliminated" so just know that if someone you like is in the one star group, they will only be eliminated if they don't get enough fan votes. same thing is true for the opposite, someone who is an all star and very talented could be eliminated as part of the "one stars" if they don't get enough fan votes by the time the first actual elimination rolls around. idk if what I said makes any sense, but every reactor I have watched has been confused bc of that so I thought I'd at least try to explain it lol. someone else in the comments explained the confusion relating to planet k vs c, which is just another example of a huge part of the show being poorly explained. the two planets don't actually merge until the 5th episode, which is actually titled as the 3rd episode bc they even made the episode numbering difficult for no reason.
