Episode 9 Progress - 7/19/19 (Patreon)
Content
Hey all...progress this week is a bit staggered.
To ensure that everything was in place, because I may not be able to change anything after the lighting is set, I combed over the full episode over and over, looking for small mistakes. I found quite a few and corrected them all.
Lighting is...not going well. It's definitely my weakness, and it's proving to be way harder in Blender than SFM. I'm not really happy with the results I'm getting and I'm progressing way too slowly. I tried doing some tests in the Blender 2.8 Beta and was able to get faster, much more efficient results, albeit constant crashing because it's in the Beta stage. I really really hope 2.8 comes out soon, as it's projected to release in the next few days. If I can use that instead, I will. Or if I can find a way to pay someone else to do the lighting, I'd try that, but I'm not sure how that would work with the gigs and gigs of files I'd need to consolidate and share.
Moreover, I believe I am now experiencing burnout. I've been working nearly every single day on this for the past couple months, and now it seems to be taking a huge toll on my mind and body. I'm not super okay right now. So I'm going to spend a few days with my family. Hopefully I can regain some sanity and motivation. One of the most important things one of my animation teachers taught me was "Work will ALWAYS be there. Make time for family. Make time for life." I think it's time to do that. The episode will be waiting for me in a few days when I get back.
Thanks all,
Shipp
