Ep.5 - Cooltrainer Gaven Lipsync Guide (Patreon)

It was difficult explaining in words what I wanted from the voice actress here.  In hindsight, I should have just done a live session.  Instead, I created this video to demonstrate how I wanted the lines to be said, along with this:

"Cooltrainer Gaven" is the Pokemon trainer of the main antagonist of this episode, Hitmonchan.  He's young (I'm thinking 10-ish) and a very dedicated, serious trainer.  Most of his lines are commanding Hitmonchan to do an attack.

As you may or may not know, all of the humans in this series speak the way that Pokemon speak in the anime (Every word is replaced by the word "Human.")  Here is the context for all of his lines:

0:06 - He's trying to catch their attention.  (Like a "Hey!")

0:15 - Commanding an attack ("Mach Punch!")

0:21 - Commanding an attack ("Mach Punch!")

0:27 - Commanding an attack ("Bullet Punch!")

0:27 - Commanding an attack ("Bullet Punch!")

0:44 - Commanding an attack ("Mach Punch!")

0:49 - Surprised that his ball just got grabbed.  (Like "Huh!?" or "What!?")

0:55 - The most important one.  This is right after he sees Hitmonchan die painfully in front of him.  First he's mortified ("Oh no!"), then, when Charmander jumps on him, he panics and scrambles to get him off.  ("Huh!?  Hey!  Ah!  No!  Get off of me!)

As you can probably tell, none of the lipsync is done.  I'll be doing that last.  Gaven's facial expressions will also be changed to sync up with the voice acting.  Also, feel free to deviate from what the subtitles say.  They're meant as a general guideline.  Feel free to change up the "hu"s and the "man"s like a Pokemon would.
