Episode 10 Update - 04/19/20 (Patreon)
Content
Hello friends! First an foremost: The Starter Squad Patreon is now MONTHLY rather than per-episode. I've adjusted the pledge tiers accordingly. I have now started spending money on the assets for the episode, and the costs are definitely going to pile up as we continue. Given the scope of this episode, it's going to get very expensive, and I intend to spend every penny of the Patreon money on this production.
So this week I worked exclusively on the sets for the episode, of which there are six. Two are completely done, two are 90% done, save for minor adjustments, and two are about 30-50% done. All of them, however, are in working condition to where I could start animating on them if I needed to. I'm going to wait a bit before dedicating more serious time to the sets, as I've made the mistake before of obsessing over minor set details that later go almost completely unnoticed. On Episode 7, for example, I spent several days, if not weeks, getting the grass in the background to look just right. I've learned that set stuff can always be adjusted later, and hopefully this time around I can hire some artists to spruce things up down the line. This episode has, by far, the most variety when it comes to settings. It's night and day compared to the last episode, where everything was underground. I'm excited to see it all come together.
This upcoming week or so, I'm planning on re-releasing the full series on the YouTube channel, as I do each year, complete with closed captioning and my intended transitions. I hate uploading old content, so I've actually prepared a little bonus video to go along with it. Keep an eye out for that. I'm gonna get back to work on it.
That's all for this week. Thanks for your continued support, friends.
