Episode 10 Update - 05/17/20 (Patreon)
Content
Hello all!
The "Three Episodes Left" video has gotten a pretty positive response, and a lot of people have since joined the Patreon. So to all of you that have just joined: Welcome! I appreciate you being a part of this. I hope to bring you a great tenth episode.
This week, I did a lot of upkeep on things I've been meaning to take care of: Updating the show bible and Easter eggs, and then doing the captions for the Episode 1-9 compilation, which always takes a lot longer than expected, because I try to ensure things are phonetically accurate. I'm really picky (as usual) about anything I upload because of how seldom it happens.
Aside from that, the casting call for this episode is now complete I've been narrowing down the auditions I've gotten. There were a grand total of 542 people auditioning for this episode. I've never had a turnout like this, and narrowing it down has been very challenging. Currently, I've narrowed it down to 14 people for the "Anarchy" character, 13 people for the "Bird" character, 14 people for the "Buddy" character, and 11 people for the "Guardian" character. Any of them would be a good choice for that specific character, and choosing is going to be extremely difficult. There's a lot of real talent here, and it's going to really come down to the wire. I think I have a couple of favorites in each group, but I'm going to at least sleep on it, try seeing what the voices sound like together, and get some second opinions before making a final decision. Seriously, though, I'm glad I don't have to worry about people giving the characters the right voice. I have too many good options here.
While that's been going on, I've also been corresponding with my assistant animator and rigger/animator, one of which is currently fixing some issues I found with the rigs and will be moving on after to some animation work, while the other I'm having work on scene building. Later this week I'm going to be putting my feelers out to hire some 3D artists to fancy up some of the sets and get them closer to the vision I'm trying to achieve. Now that I have consistent funding, I can bring the sets up from passable to ideal, and sooner rather than later would be better.
Lastly, I have two voice acting sessions scheduled for the coming week. I was supposed to have one today, but had to reschedule. After that, I'll have to schedule four more for everyone I decide to cast.
So far, things are in motion. The one thing I'm miffed about is not having the "creator commentary" updated, but at this point, I need to fully focus my efforts on the episode, for it is quite long, and we only have about 6 months to do EVERYTHING, which will absolutely fly by.
Thank you, once again, for joining me on this journey. I hope not to disappoint.
