Hey all!   I've made some really solid progress this past week that's going to shape the progress how I approach the episode going forward.

At the start of this week, my storyboard artist gave me the final storyboards for scene "B". Rather than continuing the layout passes for different parts of the rest of the episode, I just went straight into character animation, and at this point, the animation for all of Scene B, including a major fight scene, is almost entirely done.

I really wanted to post this update saying the scene was complete, but it's still a bit rough around the edges, and needs another day or two of work.  After that, I'll pass it off to another animator to fill in some of the detail work so I can move straight on to the next scene.   If I continue in this manner, I'll be able to have direct control over how the scenes look, while still having someone else to pick up my slack to save some time.  I plan to approach the rest of the scenes in this order: B, G, D, A, C, F.

Right now, I have everything needed complete G and C, am working closely with my storyboard artist on several parts of A, and am still working with 3D artists on the assets for C and F.  By moving forward in this manner, by the time I get to C and F, everything else will be done and out of the way, and I'll have everything I need to actually work on them in a manner as direct as B.

After doing so much "big picture" work and getting really burnt out by the lack of tangible progress, it's extremely refreshing to get my hands wet in actual character animation work again.  I'm finally seeing the episode with full animation on it, and it's a huge plus for my motivation.  Being able to zero in on specific parts of the episode and work consistently towards small end goals makes this a lot easier to manage.  If I'm able to keep the pace I'm at, we should get all of the character animation complete in the fall.  Here's hoping.

It looks like it's the first of the month again.  Thanks for all your support, guys.  I'm really able to build out the team this time around, and everything is looking very solid so far.  Here are the current standings for the "Very Best" Patrons:

Your help is, as always, greatly appreciated.

Mmm sounds great keep up the steady work, try to not to work at a pace so fast that it burns you out, better to feel comfortable knowing your making good progress than have to fix a sloppy unbalanced pace, just saying this to remind you to not accidentally convince yourself to go into that sloppy working speed.
