Well, you can catch up on the extended scenes on YouTube if you want. The third one is more satisfying with the extended scenes, imo. I hope you can suffer through that version. You know the connection to MCU of Tauriel. The Elf King was Ronan in MCU, and Smaug is Doc Strange. Glad you enjoyed it. Other commentors can give you more insights.

Necromancer is person who use magic, sorcery or witchcraft to reanimate the dead and/or summon spirits. In this case it was only Saurons disguise.
