Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 5 & 6 – “The Door” & “Blood of My Blood” (GOT 6x5 & 6x6) REACTION!

HODOR!!! 😭 We were NOT prepared for that one. We finally learned why Hodor is Hodor, and somehow that made losing him about 100 times worse. Hodor, Summer, and the Children of the Forest all sacrificing themselves to save Bran was absolutely heartbreaking.

And now Bran's visions are getting CRAZY! We're learning more about the past, the Night King literally marked Bran, and it feels like everything Bran is seeing is going to be extremely important going forward.

Then there's EURON GREYJOY! This dude showed up, immediately decided he wanted EVERYTHING, and somehow became king about five minutes later 😂 Meanwhile, we're loving seeing Yara and Theon together again and actually fighting on the same side. WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE!

We're also starting to wonder more and more about the Lord of Light. Between Jon coming back and everything we're seeing with the Red Priests, maybe Melisandre wasn't completely crazy after all... although we're STILL not forgiving what happened to Shireen!

And BENJEN STARK IS BACK?! We haven't seen this man since SEASON ONE!!

Season 6 continues to be fantastic. It feels like we're finally getting answers to mysteries that have been sitting there since the beginning of the show, while somehow creating even MORE questions.

RIP HODOR. HOLD THE DOOR. ❤️

(no spolierino) if you think season 6 is good so far you are in for SUCH a good time for the last 4 episodes!! <3 love

Mama Browsss

Feels like Saturday morning cartoon time for grownups! Getting me some cereal.

Sir_Dalagad

Theon goes home more than a year after his junk and meets his new enemy... his uncle Euron who has the biggest balls in GOT Irony.

MO

As if these 20 dudes are all the iron born there are lol

In regard to the play, it is more of how the external world views the events of Game of Thrones so far and how the free cities view the cultures in Westeros with some heavy stereotypes… like Northerners being dumb, and dwarves being evil etc. We happen to see the real version of events so we have a different perspective than the rest of the world.

Hitmon

Imagine coming home after a hard month raiding fishing villages, someone kills your king, and some random guy gets baptised and tells you to chop ALL the apple trees in your yard down. I don't know about you guys, but I'd be pissed...

Julien

Damn. I wish you'd taken a second to process Hodor's death before jumping right into the next episode. It's a momentous, tragic, and mind-bending development! Long story short, Bran is the one who fucked up Willys/Hodor by warging into him in the past. Young Willys essentially experienced his own violent death and it fucked up him up and basically turned his brain to mush. It's incredibly tragic. It's good to let moments like these breathe a bit. The revelation that Hodor is this way because of... Bran inflicted this trauma upon him is supposed to be huge! Ah well. Great reaction otherwise.

Itss_NattyJ

Bran isn’t warging when he’s visiting the past; In addition to being a warg, Bran has the “power of sight” to see the past and into the future. Warging helps him to see the present anywhere. As I understand it, all of the Stark children have these gifts but Bran’s is strongest because he’s always with his direwolf and near warewood trees, and being trained to be The Three-Eyed Raven. The other Stark children have either lost their direwolves and/or have been away from warewoods in the North. Rickon and Jon are pretty powerful with these gifts as well but the show didn’t highlight it much.

Jessica Houser

Hodor's original name was Wylis. When Bran warged into Hodor to get out of the cave while already warging, it caused the childhood version Wylis to go into a life changing seizure that damaged his brain. While in the seizure, he saw his older self dying from wights while holding the door. He heard Meera screaming "Hold the door!" and he began repeating it and slurring it into Hodor. The mental trauma altered his childhood brain and made him simple-minded and only able to say the word "Hodor." So, for his entire life Hodor saw his death coming over and over because he was holding that door. One of the saddest deaths of this season and maybe the show. (I hope my explanation was correct and helps!) Thanks for the reaction! Can't wait for the next 4 episodes! It's epic!!

Nymeria Stark

Yayy another video! Thanks for continuing to drop these frequently. 💖 Soooo, imho the last 2 episodes of season 6x9 and 6x10 are worthy of separate videos. I'll be glad however you make it though

Jessica Houser

I read that Pilou Asbaek(Euron) was the nanny for Nikolaj Coster-Waldau(Jamie Lannister) and his wife, while also being a Kindergarten teacher! That still shocks me when I see him onscreen. (You probably knew that but when I read your comment it was my first thought)

J-rad

Hodor became Hodor when the three eyed raven became aware that Bran would eventually have to replace him, and warged into Wylis to make him Bran’s protector. He saw it all coming. When GOT first aired I was like “Uncle Euron? More like Uncle Urine!” Needless to say he’s not my favorite character. Haha The rest of season 6 is 🔥

Peter K

Don't dwell on comments about Jon coming back to life, you only had a week to digest what happened, and we had a year to analyze the hints that pointed to that possibility. Brann is important and you see it already, good for you. I found the character arcs of the Stark kids were the most fascinating aspect of the show, and in the final seasons it gets real interesting. Knock the show runners all you want, I think they did well weaving all the subplots into the main story line. Buckle up, the ride is about to get crazy!

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

You mean the propaganda and stereotypes. It's not actually what people believe, just the only versions of stories sensationalized enough to reach them.

xris037

The play is so interesting. It really demonstrates who gets to write history. The play is based on the story that was spread about what happened in King's Landing. The Lannisters won that "battle" so they got to control the story that the common people consumed.

Elizabeth D.

I felt a lot of emotions watching GoT, but uncontrollable giggling was never one of them. I seriously wondered if you guys were stoned. 😶‍🌫️ Anyway, don’t forget that Brienne of Tarth is also on her way to Riverrun, to ask the Blackfish to help Sansa and Jon take back Winterfell.

Sir_Dalagad

Didn't know that but it's funny

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Yeah why'd you just skip over The Door ending like that? I always have to process the emotionality/impact of that moment for a bit. Watered fanfic show Euron is no book Euron, don't worry about laughing. It's not the tv settings. I second the heads up that you might want to dedicate more time somehow for Eps 9 & 10.

Julien

I felt the giggling was entirely appropriate for the ridiculousness of what they were witnessing. I'm glad they can see it for what it is.

K. WISE

I am loving watching these episodes with you. One suggestion, never skip a recap, even if you just watched the last episode. they’ll pull shit from as far back as season one sometimes, just to remind the viewer of certain events, as they’re likely going to relate to what is about to happen in the next episode.

Peter K

In all fairness, there was a lot to process in these two episodes and I can see them missing it in the first few minutes after watching two eps. I expect that once they have time to process it they will discuss it further before the next two, it really is one of the most heartbreaking character deaths in the show. It is also one of the things that point to GRRM telling the show writers where the story was going, they were not just doing their own thing, Hodor was always going to 'hold the door,' show or book.

TheOctobers

rickon too? woulda loved to see him with a power! we don’t get too much from him other than being held hostage by ramsey!

TheOctobers

Well, I don’t know if I saw them properly, but I definitely saw them and yes, I did see the mad king

Josh Viz

I disagree with this. Doing that can spoil you easily. If they remind you of an old character it's a Gurantee that character is back in this episode.

Chaz D

It finally started working from my phone again :)

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

They had the captions on and Mrs O I was crying, that means she got it? I disagree with the whole "this is proof" thing, which I explained at greater length in a different reply to like my last eps comment. For this ep no one asserts "Hold the door" is a deviation per se. That stuffs about what I said in my other comments.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Yeah and Rickons said to be more feral because he spends most of his time with Shaggydog. Like what Jojen was warning Bran about with spending too much time in Summer.

Chaz D

Yea I can def see the laughing through the whole Yuron scene being annoying and pissing off a lot of ppl lol

xris037

For me, Hodor trapped in his time loop is the saddest part of this entire series.

xris037

Mrs October is correct about Arya's sense of self. People ask/pay the Faceless Men to kill someone - they're asking the Many Faced God to kill someone. Faceless Men are assassins who work for a deity - and Arya wanted to be one, has trained to be one. But to be one of those assassins, you HAVE to be No One - you have to give up your sense of self. Otherwise, you will get attached to people and you can't kill them if YOU'VE decided that they don't have to die. You're deciding who should live/die instead of letting the Many Faced God have that person's life. You can't do that as an assassin. That's why Arya fails her tests twice. She just can't get rid of her sense of self, the way she was raised, her sense of justice, her empathy.

Chaz D

I mean come on, Tomen can be manipulated by pretty much anybody he talks to so it didn’t surprise me at all that she was able to get him to join the faith or however you wanna say it. Plus he’s obsessed with Margery too so of course he’s gonna follow whatever she says

Nymeria Stark

Love your reactions, just as you are! that's so funny about Little Finger just wanting to get an invite to dinner with everyone (so he can cause chaos lol). 🍗🍷Really enjoying how you're re-evaluating characters like Jaime Lannister and how complex everything gets with new developments. 🏰

mgamer327 .

wow! didn't know that one! almost as crazy as IRL Cersai dated Bronn (the actors)!!

Gypsysoul

Blood of my blood! The gateway for epicness! Keep up the epic work 🤩🤩

Julien

People need to quit shaming our reactors for justifiably laughing at a completely ridiculous scene. The whole Euron business at the King's Moot was absolutely completely ridiculous and entirely deserving of derision. All of it: the speeches, the instantaneous switches of allegiances, the drowning, the march to murder the nephew and niece, the command to build a thousand ships... all of it was ridiculous. It was a completely ridiculous sequence.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Yeah I think they keep seeing this as more of a cult than a cult of assassins, with emphasis on what's required to be a true assassin above all. They just happen to make up a god to justify their line of work lol.

ShittyShittyGameGang

Any other character I'd say the giggling would be crazy but Euron is ridiculous, like man's a joke. It's like Theon said, he's been out gallavanting around and just came home and decided he's the best to rule. Boy, you were out going crazy on your own ship where you should be in your element doing the one thing the freaking Ironborn are good at. But sure he's fit to rule.

ShittyShittyGameGang

The door episode has got to be one of my favorites, I ALWAYS cry watching Hodor's ending.

Peter K

If you look a the play you can see how sarcastic the players acted, the Lannisters may have propagandized the story, but the people were mocking it. To me that shows they knew much of it was just BS.

ShittyShittyGameGang

They did, they just did it off camera, they paused the recording after the episode was over. I think they took a minute for Mrs. to get herself gathered before the next episode.

Peter K

Euron was the worst casting mistake they made, he played his part too over the top. He was trying to be menacing and came off comical instead. For all the good choices they made in casting, I can let that one pass. On the flip side, Peter Dinklage got 8 Emmy nominations, one for every season, winning 4 of them...

Peter K

I didn't say 'this is proof,' just that the Hodor aspect was straight from GRRM. Until he releases another book, we won't know what his 'end game' actually is. I would not be surprised if the ultimate result aligns with what he is writing, and I will explain why it makes sense to me once we get there. There are several good reasons to think the end of his story will be a lot like the show.

Nymeria Stark

suggesting GOT related content for after watching the whole series: the GOT Hotline for Confused Fans video 🐺🐉🦁🦌

McC

Don't worry about laughing a little bit. We all laughed with you during the whole Euron Greyjoy-thingy. It's no secret that small dumb things starts to emerge after season 4, when the overall quality - especially in the writing - starts to decline, and decend into stupidity and one-dimentionality. It's still a good show overall at this point, but it's clear that it's not AS good as the early GoT, which certainly didn't contain these kinds of scenes that are unintentionally funny, because of how dumb and rushed it appears to the audience. Nothing within that whole scene made any sense.

Saskk

No doubt. I'm surprised they weren't more affected by it. That's one negative of talking during a show. You can't fully escape into the story. As much as I loved watching this show on Sundays with friends, I always preferred it alone, in the dark, with earphones. The real world was simply shut off. Obviously that's just not possible here lol

Elena

Also he doesnt have a single good advisor this whole time... had tywin not died, and advise him, Tommen would have been a better king i'm sure. Cercei is keeping him from everything important that he has to know to be a good ruler.

Elena

Agreed !

Peter K

Since they go back to edit for YT, they do get to see it again and pick up anything they may have missed.

Do Not Talk About Fight Club

In my opinion this was the 1st episode I started ti notice the quality go down. Like Euron just took over that easy? But I looked passed it. More plot armor to come 😅

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Did you read the books? Did you see my other reply about this on the last video? And again no one has any argument against "Hold the door" happening so I'm not sure why that's being brought up here? But again the issue is not that something probably won't happen, it's that it will probably culminate and build up to in a markedly different way due to other key characters and storylines not being present in the show. I thought I emphasized this distinction and nuance about it pretty well in my other reply ... but I also wrote it so over sleep deprived that I didn't even know, so maybe not 🤷🏾‍♀️😅.

Bulletproof

I can't stop laughing. You laughed about him being ambitious, commiting treason and demanding everyone cut down trees so soon. In my head I combined the two and thought about how he's commiting "treeson" .... I'm ashamed of myself for laughing.

Miguel Lugo

You guys not being able to take Euron seriously is so funny lmao

Tome M

oh god please no, just think about the wait, we need them at once!!

Hailey ✨

For the comment at the end of your description - Ghost and Nymeria are still alive, just FYI guys!

K. WISE

I suppose it is the preference of the viewer. There is so much that happens in this series and it’s impossible to not miss some information. I always found that the recap allowed me to follow the story much better, it never actually spoiled anything for me. I see your point, I just think it’s much easier to make that point when you already know what will happen. For a first time viewer, those recaps can be a godsend

Jonathan D

Am I missing something, you guys laugh at everything.
