Harvey

Didn’t realise you guys would actually watch this cause it came 3rd in the poll but so glad you did, all of Scorsese films make for great reactions even hateful eight if you think of it as a play more than a movie

Christian

Let’s gooo, can’t wait to watch this later, gotta start the new Tarantino playlist here. He has made at least 3 of my top 10 favorite movies.

Christian

Inglorious Basterds, Django unchained, reservoir dogs, kill bill, hateful 8 just to name a few, Love them all, he puts Easter eggs in all his movies to indirectly connect them creating little universes within each movie haha he’s my favorite director for sure.

Josh Viz

OH SNAP the Tarantino era begins. I hope yall eventually watch all of his films!

Josh Viz

This is Quentin Tarantino not Martin Scorsese but they are both great directors!

Harvey

Idk why I said Scorsese I’m watching shutter island rn so got hella confused lol

Josh Viz

If you need some Tarantino recommends see below 👌🏼 Must see: -Django Unchained -Inglorious Bastards -Kill Bill 1 and 2 -Once Upon a Time In Hollywood I personally recommend you also check out: -The Hateful 8 -From Dusk Till Dawn (this one isn't directed by Quentin but he wrote it and Stars in it!) -Reservoir Dogs

Caleb

Quentin’s best work in my opinion.

Josh Viz

Maybe haha that movies a brain twister if anything!

Harvey

Doesn’t help when you’re high aswell 😂 what’s ur favourite Tarantino and Scorsese ?

KimM

Can't wait to watch later! Since relatively new here, not sure what Tarantino movies you may have seen, but be sure not to miss his "Reservoir Dogs", "Inglorious Bastards, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", "Django Unchained", "The Hateful Eight" and "Death Proof". He wrote and starred in the action-horror film From Dusk till Dawn, really good!

Josip Buretić

Uh this will be great reaction, I love this movie so much and I am so curious to hear your opinion on this awesome movie! Here we goooo... Btw Pulp Fiction soundtrack is awesome... Samuel L Jackson is iconic in this movie I love him so much

Tyrone Bigguns

Alright... I really want to see a reaction to both Grease and Grease 2 now.

Tyrone Bigguns

id do Resovoir Dogs next, then Jackie Brown, then Once Upon A Time in Hollywood

Hard Parking Violations

I almost could recite this entire movie. It gets even better each time you watch it. However, as a fellow editor, it’s like seeing it 20 times anyway during the editing process.

Josh Viz

Haha I get it im about to bring out the bong for Pulp Fiction later when i get off work. I bet Scorsese has all sorts of bangers that I'm forgetting but Goodfellas is probably his best work in my book! That or Wolf of Wallstreet. Tarantino Is harder to vote on...I say the full Kill Bill story so part 1 and 2 together would be my favorite! How about you?

Harvey

I still haven’t seen kill bill which is wild , for tarantino mines Django but for Scorsese I love alice doesn’t live here anymore and mean streets but goodfellas is my favourite of all time

Josh Viz

From Dusk till Dawn gotta be one of my favorite redirects of all film haha

Tyrone Bigguns

Martin and Lewis are white (Vanilla), Amos and Andy are black (Chocolate).... don't @ me I didn't write the movie.

reijav

**cough, cough ** Inception** cough, cough **

KimM

For sure!!

TheOctobers

Oh no…. I just don’t know if I can. Isn’t it a musical?

TheOctobers

I publically don’t like musicals but I’d be willing to try it!

Christian

Also fun fact in I think The winter soldier when you see Nick Fury's gravestone that Bible verse in this movie Ezekiel 25:17 is on his tombstone as an Easter egg

Robert Nelson

There are some REALLY good musicals out there, Grease being one of them. Also, The Sound of Music, The West Side Story, Annie, etc.

TheOctobers

We will add it to the list! I’m sure I’d low it on the low

Chris

I was living in Japan in the early-mid 90s so I had never heard of Pulp Fiction, and I went to the video store and saw a movie with Bruce Willis on the cover and brought it home to watch, having no idea what I was in for (I thought it was just some random Bruce Willis movie), and I was blown away. I loved it.

TheOctobers

It was slightly confusing for sure. But I tried to not seem lost then it all clicked

EnVy316LeGeNd

not sure why but maybe the cast, True Romance is one of my favorites. written by Tarantino, basically jump started his career

SeeingNinths

I'm still going to love Pulp Fiction when I'm a grandpa. Haha.

Kenneth thomas

The thing that was kind of "boundary pushing" for its time in Pulp Fiction was the dialogue. It was very natural feeling in a way that wasn't really done pre-90's. Before then you would never see a scene with two guys talking about burgers that has absolutely nothing to do with the movie, but it humanizes the characters to a degree and just makes it feel very real.

Tyrone Bigguns

OK I love Tanrantino movies but I absolutely think there is an issue with his overuse of the N-word. I was around in the 90s, even then, it was NOT common (at least in my world) to hear white people use the hard R. The way he crammed it into his own lines at the end was just over the top and seemed like he was just getting off on being able to say it.

Christian

He’s gotten a lot of criticism for that in this movie in particular. I think he just tried really hard to be edgy as he was still a new writer and director at this time or even just to make you understand these characters are not good guys. He’s obviously the type that pushes stuff like this to the max especially in Django but I suppose it makes sense in that movie.

Israel

I do hope at some point you plan on getting into the DCEU films, but now yall just might have to dive into the universe of Quentin Tarentino

Can’t wait to watch this after work! I LOVE Tarantino’s movies!!! I was 13 or 14 years old when I first watched “Pulp Fiction”. My older Sister has seen it in theaters and said I just had to see it! So when it came out on home video she rented it for us to watch. It was the first Tarantino movie I ever saw and I loved it! I have been a fan of his movies ever since. My all time favorites of his works are “True Romance” from 1993, and “Reservoir Dogs” from 1992. Tarantino didn’t direct “True Romance” he only wrote the script/screenplay and ended up selling it in order to help fund the making of his directorial debut and my other favorite film of his “Reservoir Dogs”. Tarantino is one of the best and most influential directors/writers of our time. I’m very happy you guys are dipping your toes into his filmverse!

CheshireKat528

Agreed. Kevin Smith is another film maker that had his big break out in the early 90’s and also helped to normalize everyday conversations in film dialogue and writing, imho anyway 😉 I would love to see the Octobers check the View Askewniverse at some point.

CheshireKat528

YES! Loved that the Russo brothers included this fun little egg in Winter Soldier!

CheshireKat528

That was so much fun!!! I love watching first time reactions to this movie! This movie was definitely influential to the film industry and pushed some movie making boundaries for sure. It was also a critical and commercial success and earned 7 Oscar nominations, including a best actor nomination for John Travolta, best supporting actor nomination for Samuel L. Jackson, and a best supporting actress nomination for Uma Thurman. Tarantino won the Oscar for best original screenplay and was nominated for best director and the film itself was nominated for best picture. Pulp Fiction wouldn’t be the last of Tarantino’s films to earn major awards, he has had multiple nominations and wins over the years for his writing & filmmaking. Samuel L. Jackson was famous prior to this movie, but this was the role that really launched him into the superstar stratosphere and cemented his persona as the coolest actor working in the business to this day! Tarantino had actually wrote the character of “Jules” with Jackson in mind, however the studio still made Jackson audition for the part. When Jackson showed up for the audition they mistook him for a different actor. The identity mixup made Jackson so mad that it helped him get more into character and nail the audition, proving that NO ONE else could ever be “Jules Winfield” except the man Tarantino had envisioned in the role from the beginning, the one, the only, the ultimate “Bad Mother Fucker”, Samuel L. Jackson! -Favorite Samuel L. Jackson movies: “A Time to Kill” (1996) “The Long Kiss Goodnight” (1996) this is a good one to watch for the Christmas/Holiday season. “The Negotiator” (1998) *my other favorite Sam Jackson movie is listed below under one of the other actors, I will let which movie be a surprise for when you guys get around to watching it 😉 -Favorite Bruce Willis movies: “Die Hard” (1988) “Color of Night”(1994) I prefer the unrated extended director’s cut of this movie. “12 Monkeys” (1995) “Die Hard with a Vengeance” (1995) this is the 3rd installment of the “Die Hard” franchise. -Favorite John Travolta movies: “Grease”(1978) “Look Who’s Talking” (1989) “Michael” (1996) “Face/Off”(1997)

CheshireKat528

An often forgotten Quentin Tarantino film is “Four Rooms” from 1995. Tarantino is actually one of four different directors that worked on this film. The movie is broken up into 4 separate short stories/films that all take place in one location on New Year’s Eve. Each story was written and directed by a different creator. The film got mixed reviews, but I have always enjoyed its talented stacked cast and quirky dark comedy. Might be worth a watch for New Year’s.

CheshireKat528

True Romance is one of my all time favorite movies! The cast is amazing, the writing is so good, the score is on point, it’s all just so cool 😁 I hope they are able to watch it at some point, it is truly a Tarantino classic done right by the awesome directing talents of Tony Scott!

J-rad

1994 was one of the best years for cinema in modern history no matter what your taste in movies was. Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, The Lion King, Clerks, Ace Ventura, Natural Born Killers, Speed, The Hudsucker Proxy… just an absolutely unmatched year maybe ever since. If you’re game to continue your Tarantino journey, I’d suggest Kill Bill (Vol 1 & 2) next - also with Uma Thurman, then Once Upon A Time In Hollywood with Brad Pitt and Leo, then Inglorious Basterds which is a great WWII movie (also w/ Pitt). If you watch Tarantino’s movies closely enough you’ll notice he LOVES one-takes, but they’re not showy. They’re simple and elegant and don’t distract from the story. I’m glad you liked Pulp. I was worried with the language it might not be up your alley.

ImHigh Sorry

Super underrated tarantino movie is Swordfish

Kasey Wilson

They speak english in what? My fav line in the movie

ShittyShittyGameGang

Alright, yall have got to do some kind of special video reaction to just the finale of Ozark! Bite the bullet so you guys can finish that series. You could do it for an anniversary or something.

ShittyShittyGameGang

If you're really interested In having a list of movies you've watched check out the Letterboxd app, that's what I do to keep track of all the movies I've watched or want to watch. Eta: the first marvel movie I actually sat down and watched (in the theater too) was infinity war. One of the best experiences I've ever had watching a movie as well, immediately hooked on marvel.
