Awesome surprise! Can't wait to see if you guys like it. If you did, you should definitely consider watching the TV show at some point. It's an anthology series, so you don't necessarily have to watch all of the seasons.

O brother where art thou (another film by the Coens) is an absolute must especially with Nolan’s The odyssey coming out. O brother is a different telling of the Odyssey (and imo the best) Both of Troy and Ulysses gaze are also retellings of that infamous story

That was the first time I have ever seen watched Fargo from start to finish! A very different and pretty dark movie but good attitudes of all those involved brightens the film quite a bit. Steve Buscemi is always great! On to the next one!!

The Coen Brothers have admitted that it isn't a true story, and there's been a lot of different accounts by them regarding it over the years. Not to take anything away from it though, awesome movie. The TV series is a must watch, especially the first two seasons.

I haven’t seen the top 250 but Slingblade has to be on or at least 251st.. excellent movie! Mrs. October would quickly find a soft spot for Carl I reckon!

I haven’t watched quite yet (waiting to get home), but I really hope you guys decide to watch the Fargo series after this!! I think it’s so good and you should totally watch the movie before the show. And if you haven’t seen shameless, William H Macy (Jerry) is a main character in that and it’s a great watch.

Oh yeah, you betcha, yeah. So Marge's husband is in some stuff that yall have scheduled to do at some point. I don't know if it's a spoiler to tell ya. I can't remember If he's been in anything that yall have done on the channel so far. Buscemi is on Monster's Inc too btw, yes Randall the villain. And in some Adam Sandler movies, he's so funny. And great at some of the creepier roles, like Con Air.

The TV series Fargo takes it's lead from the movie, but it's still its own thing. It's very funny in this same dark, deadpan way. I highly recommend it. It's got Martin Freeman, Billy Bob Thornton, Colin Hanks, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Ewan McGregor, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Chris Rock, Joe Keery, Bob Odenkirk, Ted Danson, Jon Hamm, and SO many more!

The best part of the Fargo series is that they are all very different with settings and characters, but all the seasons are linked to each other in odd ways.

Just keep in mind whenever you watch the Coen Bros movies that it’s ok to laugh at any and all of it. All of their films weave a very specific brand of comedy into them. Fargo isn’t a true story, and if you ever rewatch it, you’ll appreciate more fully the absurdity of everything that’s happening.
