Carl being the one to console & Embrace Maggie is EVERYTHING fr 😭! My guy is a MF Soldier & their bond cannot go understated 🙏🏻! Between Losing someone in the barn shootout, to the Lori/Judith trauma bonding, to losing Hershel & Beth, him giving her the music box before they first got to Alexandria to symbolize Beth’s singing bringing them hope, him wanting to go out on this trip to protect her from going through what Lori went through after she & her family saved them at the Farm, etc. him & Maggie are bonded for LIFE!

I only watched the show for the first time a few years ago, and so when I got to 7x01, Abraham’s death and omg Glenn’s especially… I was downstairs watching on the big tv and my sister and mom were upstairs and I was SOBBING! Hysterically crying and my mom calls me and she’s like…. Are u ok? Lmao I was like no 😭😭 she was like go watch something else, watch one tree hill to cheer u up lol, I was like I have to finish it I’m not through it yet 🤣It was traumatic

At the end with negan trying to break him down more by having him get in the mental state to cut off his son’s arm?? Incredible acting. The “it could be me!” The snot coming out, omg incredible.

Whelp, here it is. The episode that made mass people quit watching. I loved it, despite how traumatizing it was, because the stakes were suddenly the highest they’ve ever been. Please stick with this show. Some of the best content happens long after the main chunk of viewers left.

I'm going to go back and watch your reaction to the last season 6 episode and this together. I remember this episode came out the weekend of my birthday, October 23rd 2016. I was just as pregnant with my daughter as you are now. It was extremely emotional. I kept thinking how poor pregnant Maggie must have been destroyed! I haven't watched this since. Shew...it's a rough one! (I also struggled with This Is Us premiering at the same time) It's crazy the things you remember and why! Also, I have to say John Winchester/Jeffrey Dean Morgan kills it as one of the best villains ever! I have to admit....I do love Negan! Such an epic premier episode! Thanks for putting this out so quickly! Love y'all...as always! ❤️

To me watching it for the first time.. Abraham wasn’t THAT surprising, but omg Glenn? No that one came out of nowhere and HURT more than any of the deaths up to this point 💔he’d been here the entire show and he died.. and in such a brutal way. It HURT

The overall arc of the group up to this point is great. They go from trying to do good to learning that's how you get killed to believing that you have to become a monster to survive, to suddenly realizing that there are bigger monsters than them. And the group continues to develop from here.

AMC was smart enough to film every member being killed off by Neegan to prevent spoilers and leaks from giving away who is the unfortunate soul. Before meeting Neegan, Abraham is originally killed in the place of Denise, so that came as a shock for us comic book fans, and Glenn is the original pick for Neegan. Goes to show that the show took liberties and gives us a false sense of security. I forsure knew Glenn was going to die, because his death is the comics is iconic, but then they hit us with Abraham. I let my guard down for a second before Daryl takes a swing. I just kept watching Neegan and was very concerned when I saw him close to Glenn, and then BAM. Straight out of the comics with everything.

Fascinating part of episode two is seeing the drastically different dynamic between the saviors and the small group of people from the kingdom that know about the deal that was made. Makes you wonder how different things would’ve turned out for our group if they had attempted to make contact first instead of slaughtering 40+ people in the most brutal of ways… - blown up into pieces & puddles - stabbed in the head while sleeping - gunned down in mass while reacting to the sleeping massacre - trapped & burned alive (Women) - head bashed in - shot execution style - pierced to the wall to be feasted on by walkers

JDM got a call from his agent that said he had a role in TWD as a 'big bad' and they didn't know the characters name yet because it's supposed to be a secret. JDM responded "it's fuckin' Negan and I'm fuckin' doing it". He knew being a fan of the comic series and the show!

The show gets three strikes, and losing Glenn, particularly in this utterly trash way was strike one. Sorry for the poorly timed baseball analogy. The next two strikes don’t come for a while, but this was the beginning of the end of TWD for me. RIP to the GOAT.

Neat so I can finally talk without spoilers. They teased Glenn's death like OVER AND OVER just to fuck with comic book readers. The time Nicholas shot himself. The time he was stuck in the prison. The time the Governor locked him up and beat him. The time, albeit briefly, at the end of Season 4 when Tara got pinned in the train tunnel. The time they killed Noah. Also I think I left the comment already but they actually filmed individual scenes for the Season 7 premiere where every single person in the scene was the one who got killed, so that no one actually knew which script was real. And then they went and followed the book anyway. This is the point where people cry and cry and cry because they don't understand what show they were watching. If you thought any character was safe, well, lol to you. Even a lot of comic book readers stopped here but it was also because they probably stopped reading the book anyway and/or the show did some things they didn't like. Keep in mind that Glenn's death was literally written and printed and published before the show got anywhere close to this story arc. The show, the first 6 episodes were basically all a pilot that aired and then the Bluray came out in 2010. Glenn died before Season 3 started filming (2012) so that's 5 years.

Not really. The Saviors are dogshit no matter what. The amount of protagonists who die in the show after what they did is actually extremely generous and little different than the amount that would have died if they hadn't made the first move. Also, not to post specific spoilers. but the Saviors did MUCH worse.

I actually won a ticket to go see this live with a big group of people in L.A. and they had the actors come out and talk with Chris Hardwick on stage in front of everyone that won or bought tickets. I unfortunately didnt notice the email about me winning until they had given up on my response and picked another name 😭. Chris was just seeing it for the first time too so when they went to him live on the stage after the show aired you could just see how upset everyone including Chris was. I for one was bawling my eyes out. And they talked about how tough it was on all the actors doing those scenes. Like they're also losing friends (as in they're leaving the show) they've worked with for so long and just being In those emotions has got to be so draining. It had to be hard for JDM to do those couple episodes too.

Please understand this is based on a comic that was 80 issues in when the show started. For the first 8 seasons they generally follow the comic. Abraham was already dead before this happened in the book. The point is almost none of the characters are just being written out, it’s following a set story.

They did Glenn beautifully. Not an opinion - a professional statement. The actor was given an out and literally offered to NOT die. Steven said NO WAY. This is Glenns fate and is never forgotten in the show.

Oh man, come on! They gave Glenn the EXACT SAME ENDING from the comic, they didn't do him dirty, they honored the source material. If you can't handle it then you can't handle it but they did NOT do him dirty, everything, how he died, what Negan said, the makeup, EVERYTHING was exactly how it happened in the comic, so how is that doing him dirty in the show?

Guys, Daryl didn't accept to join Megan's crew because he knows if he does, Negan will use him to hurt his friends. He said it as much on the episode (the cell) to Dwight. After Negan told the whole Dwight, Sherry and Negan saga to Daryl (about how Dwight ran away with Sherry and her sister but then they came back and Sherry became Negan's "wife" and Dwight got burned with the iron), Daryl said to Dwight that he understood why Dwight accepted, that it was because he was thinking of someone else, and that was why he couldn't. Meaning, Daryl understands Dwight became one of Megan's henchman so he could stick around and keep an eye on Sherry, he did it for someone else. But in Daryl's case, he HAS to refuse so Negan doesn't make him harm or kill is friends, so he has to say no for the sake of his friends. It has nothing to do with keeping his dignity or being hard headed and it's not a bad decision at all, it's actually a really good and hard decision. He's being tortured, it would've been really easy for someone in his place to accept to join Megan's side and end this tortyre, but Daryl is ride or die with his friends. Good for him!

One of my favorite memes of all time but is also pretty awful, came out during covid when Fauci was trying to get everyone to believe that it started by someone eating a bat in a wet market in china, and it specifically said: "This ain't the first time the world's breath got taken away by an asian eating a bat" and the picture is Neagan holding Lucille covered in blood.

Ya. The reason Daryl jumped up and hit Negan is because he thought he was going to hurt Rosita. He was defending a woman...his family member. Now that act was a good excuse to kill Glenn, but Negan would've done it anyways. If Daryl hadn't done that, he'd have killed Glenn for 'not liking how Rick looked at him' or to make sure Rick was broken instead of pulling that stunt where he almost made Rick chop off Carl's arm. And he definitely picked Abe and Glenn both out for reasons. Abe squared up to him so Negan knew he was a fighter who could be a problem. And killing him would send a message. He killed Glenn because Glenn lost his shit as soon as he saw Negan say to Maggie he should 'put her out of her misery' and faked like he was going to Lucille her in a way. That showed Negan that Glenn was willing to act out and had something, someONE to fight for and so that could be a problem. Killing Glenn got rid of a potential issue and would also potentially break Maggie.

It would be super tempting to just disappear as a group in the middle of the night one night. Let the Saviors find Alexandria abandoned. Go really far far away, and go somewhere really remote in the wilds. I think some of the reason they didn't do that was because they had some older people still, and weaker non-fighters, but mainly I think it's because Alexandria had so many amenities that you almost don't find in that world. Great solar power (electrick, Abe mentioned air conditioning, they had refrigeration, etc), water filtration and hot water, sewage and indoor plumbing...not mentioning the walls and just the huge beautiful houses. If they were more in the prison or a Woodbury-type place that wasn't as fancy, they'd be gone (I hope)

People don't want to realize that Glenn had to die for Maggie's story to evolve more than what it had become. And in the comic she really becomes something great, much better than in the show sadly. Also, the show was considering NOT killing Glenn this way but it was such an iconic moment, that set such a tone, that Glenn's actor spoke with production and insisted they give his character his cannon death. He was fine with it, and that also allowed him to go work on other projects.

He definitely would've made Daryl do something horrendous to 'prove himself' if he'd said that he was Negan. We see this later in the series with someone, in fact.
