Oh Geez, I already know the moments where Tony will scream.... EDIT: Nice reaction, I knew the kennel and the chest scenes would get you good, and they did. Got to say Mr. O is the louder of you two, and its great. You already know my favorite 70's movie, its #2 on your list. But there are some other great movies from the 70s, Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry movies were fun, not to mention his westerns are worth a look. In the 80's you get Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, and Rambo movies, a lot of classic 80s action movies.

Time for "Big Trouble in little China" 😎

Kurt Russell has been in so many great movies. This is one of my favs along with Captain Ron, Tombstone, and Stargate. I was so worried for Mrs. O watching this one lol. The dogs get to me every time!

Kurt Russells best film for me is Tombstone that is a classic gotta see that one if you havent

Enterprise24

I am so happy you guys finally watched this movie! The Thing is one of my all time favorite films. You can definitely go down Youtube rabbit holes with theory videos on when people became infected throughout the movie, how imitation actually takes place, and the biggest question of them all - was Childs a Thing or not? Lots of good theory videos by Rob Ager and others, if you're interested.

John Carpenter also did Holloween 1 and 2 Carpenter also did Escape From New York with Kurt Russell another banger

Alien came three years before this. *Aliens* came four years after. This was a groundbreaker in terms of practical effects (as was Alien), but this didn’t get an appreciation until many years later. Other than this movie specifically, John Carpenter is mostly revered as the director of the first Halloween movie. Though he’s directed many other classics. The Fog, They Live, and Escape from New York, just to name a few…🥰

I’ve gotta check this out. The Thing is one of my all time favourite movies.

I wanna hear MR October growl

This movie is og body horror. Except alien, like, most modern sci-fi horror can be traced directly to this movie. It’s all practical effects too of course. The dog tendrils and splitting heads for example are 1:1 in resident evil 4, the flesh horror in general is basically identical in dead space and last of us, as well as Virus. Undoubtedly more too. There’s still debate about the ending like how macready you can see his breath but not Childs. Brilliant movie. The 2011 prequel is worth watching too.

Blue coat is Keith David. He was in Armageddon, he voiced Anderson in Mass Effect and he’s a legend. Also Community, Platoon, Spawn, the Arbiter in Halo, Modern Warfare 2, Rick and Morty , pitch black, roadhouse, Mr and Mrs smith and more.

I 2nd this for sure, if they haven't watched it I think they'd like it

ShittyShittyGameGang

Yall gotta check out the 2011 The Thing too it's obviously not looked at as a classic like this one is but I think it's pretty good. And for more Kurt Russell, Tombstone. I'm not into westerns really but I like that one alot. Which leads me to suggest Deadwood (the tv show followed by the movie), don't know if it would be feasible for the channel with all the language you'd have to cut out (one of the main character's favorite word is the c u next Tuesday word lol) but it's a really good western type show/movie as well. Glad yall got to check this one off both your posters! I love this movie.

ShittyShittyGameGang

If I could go back in time and work on one movie, this would be the one. Those practical effects are just 🖤🖤

DarrellWaller

OMG, 70's horror?? You MUST see The Exorcist. Scariest movie of all time still to this day!!!!

DarrellWaller

Oh, they definitly need Rambo: First blood and Rambo 2 in their lives!!!

Yoav Cohen

How do you know The Thing wasn’t Charles or McCready at the end? 👀 they left it open on purpose.

ShittyShittyGameGang

Oooh a couple other kool things about this that I don't think you guys realized when watching, the guy playing Clark (the one in charge of the dogs) was in the It miniseries as older Stan. AND in the It movie they were inspired by The Thing & made STAN'S head into a little spider creature.

JG

It’s funny that you mentioned The Hateful Eight, because Quentin Tarantino drew heavy inspiration from The Thing, which was his favourite horror movie. He even used one of the Thing scores as part of the movie soundtrack, and brought the original composer, Ennio Morricone (who is the GOAT) to do the music.

Lee Shafer

I like over board Kurt Russell and his real life wife Goldie Hawn is in it . It's a comedy

Josh M

If you guys like the 80s creature features like Alien, The Thing, etc, you should check out Tremors (1990). That's another one of my favorites and blends some comedy with the horror.

Anthony Tucceri

Didn't Even Regonize Him At First But Yeah That's Him At 26. Now He Is 69
