Freaking love this movie. When I think of Paxton in 80's it was Weird Science as Chet, which is great. Arnold was big in 80's but I think even more so the 90's. Stallone now thats my 80's guy (or Van Damme) and then a second coming with The Expendables in 2000's

Never liked this movie. Very over rated. Gave us some Mortal Kombat characters at least.

This one is such a cult classic. Some of my favorite Kurt Russel movies are Captain Ron (1992) comedy/adventure, Tombstone (1993) western/action, Stargate (1994) scifi/action, Overboard (1987) romcom, and Backdraft (1991) action/thriller. Escape from New York (1981) and Escape from L.A. (1996) action/scifi are two more Carpenter/Russell combos. Stargate set off a long running scifi show of the same name with a few spinoffs (though Russell was not in the series beyond the first movie). If y'all watch Tombstone, I feel like Mr. O will be quoting lines from it for a long time after like we all did in the 90s

If you liked this, there is a better Kurt Russell/John Carpenter movie that is even more over the top than this. Escape From New York is a real fun ride, absurd from start to end, but plenty of laughs with a very weird premise. Since you think Kurt is the 'same' guy in every role, his character Snake Plissken might surprise you.

Most of the weird stuff in this movie are common tropes in Chinese martial arts movies.
