Please rewatch the Karate Kid films Jes. Whenever you have a chance, there three of them and they will help so much with Easter eggs and references when you get into the further seasons, plus they are good movies nonetheless. 6 seasons and this is still one of my personal favourite episodes of the entire show. You got the start of an iconic relationship, Johnny being sweet, Robby being badass, Daniel being a dick but the total opposite to Robby. This episode has it all. Johnny was definitely an asshole in the first movie, but Daniel was also kind of an asshole in the first movie, too. Both are ridiculously stubborn, but we see in this episode that, for now, Johnny is at least willing to try to make a change in his life (anyone else hearing "Man in the Mirror"). That hard exterior of Johnny's hides a kind soul, deep, deep down. His methods aren't always the best, but he's trying his best. And yeah, the date's cute. Miguel didn't need to make a move as Sam made the move herself, in more ways than one 😉 Robby standing up to his friends is a good growth moment for him.
