Gina's mom annoyed the heck out of me. She's so judgemental of her daughters high school boyfriend and she doesn't even really support her daughter unless it's for her fame and stuff. She couldn't even be bothered to sit down and watch Gina in the musical she just stands off to the side Also the Denny's thing at the end is a callback to the season 1 finale when Nini said after the show the kids usually cry and go to Denny's.

The writers had Ricky say 'I love you' inside an empty classroom, which is the same classroom where Gina told him 'She wouldn't give up on them if she wasn't leaving'. This was the chief kiss. Ricky's mom has been encouraging him to find a new girlfriend since day one, which I really like. They say moms have all the wisdom, don't they? Not saying she didn't like Nini, but she was the one saying that you don't always end up with your first love. I love the big circle moment. Gina and Ricky first met in the staircase. Gina told Ricky to perform the song for Nini in front of the public. Ricky communicated to Gina about the auditions. During the auditions, Ricky was unable to express his love for Nini. However, Ricky sang at Gina's press conference and declared his love for her. Gina: 'Maybe you don't love her, full stop' Gina to Ricky in 4x06/1x01 Ricky: 'Here I am full heart, full stop, I love you' Ricky to Gina in 4x08 NO WRITER HAS EVER LOVE A SHIP LIKE TIM LOVE A SHIP

ngl im Gina's mom's #1 hater!!! It makes total sense why Gina and EJ bonded, they both have parents with expectations that are impossible to live up to. The way she was so nasty toward Ricky over nothing when mind you she was standing the whole show bc she prob didn't have a ticket booked since she showed up only when Ricky called her out earlier in the day. Ricky's better than me cuz i would've been nastier

“You know what b****??” The laugh I let out omg 😭 No because Gina’s mom from the first episode was so annoying. She never ever was really thinking about Gina’s happiness it always had a motive behind it and that’s why I could never care for her. Enough about her though, I remember watching the finale for the first time and just like you I was either tearing up or sobbing every second lol. As much as it’s bittersweet that it’s over, I’m so happy you ended up watching this show and got to watch this amazing cast show their talents every episode. The OG HSM cast are definitely proud. 🤍

I'm going to say A LOT now and I'm very sorry. If you don't read it all I don't blame you lol. Excuse my language but I feel it's warranted, this fucking show. 😂 It really takes you off guard. You go into it thinking this will be another cute Disney show aimed at kids that will make you laugh and smile. And then you realize oh, this is aimed at people who are older. Tim the showrunner confirmed they did write this show for the OG fans, those of us in our 20s and 30s now who grew up with the HSM movies. So there's swearing and complex storylines and SO much emotional damage. It takes you by surprise in the best way. I'm really not an emotional person, it seriously takes a lot for me to cry, but this final season gets me every single time. Especially the finale. This is why it's my favourite show. Now it's not perfect. I have some minor issues. I do wish that they'd spread the seasons over a longer period of time, because s1 to s4 being just 1 year of time doesn't feel right to me because of how much the characters have gone through and how much they've grown. It should've been at least a couple of years, 3/4 preferably. I also wish they'd ended the show at the end of Ricky's, Kourtney's etc senior year so we could see them graduate. I think that would've made the impact of them running out of East High a lot better. I'm still to this day MAD that Miss Jenn and Mr Mazarra didn't kiss, we've waited 4 seasons for them to finally get together but it felt like an afterthought to the finale really. They only had a couple of tiny conversations and got together with a little hug and that was it. I did find that disappointing. I also don't think the fake French guy was needed at all, he was weirdly over the top during these episodes which doesn't track with how his character was in s2 and while I appreciate that he's another bi character added to the list I don't feel it was necessary to force Big Red to be with someone else. And I don't like the narrative of all bi people needing to be with someone of the same sex, they do push a lot of negative bi stereotypes throughout this last season with the cheating and then this. They could've done a lot better with that. Also Gina changing the contract like that literally can't happen, for a movie that big lawyers would've typed that contract up. If she didn't want to do the movie in New Zealand she would've had to not sign the contract and ask Quinn to get the lawyers to write up a new one. I didn't like that Ricky's parents got back together, I think teaching viewers that parents can be divorced but can still end up as friends is a great message and she literally left Ricky's dad for a new man and wasn't nice about it either. I feel that sweet Mr Bowen deserves better than her honestly. Gina's mom also sucks and I feel that there should've been a scene where Gina stands up to her because her behaviour has sucked for years tbh. I'm really annoyed about the sound mixing on I Want It All, just like you I love that song but it sounds like Kourtney is shouting it way too much and you can't hear Carlos at all. That's a shame. I think they could've done more with Kourtney and Jet, it was just sort of left on a will they/won't they thing and I feel like why tease them since the start of season 3 if you're not going to do anything with it, it made that feel like an unnecessary plot in the end. And finally Gina telling Ricky that she sewed a message under the label of the hat she made him was adorable but the more I think about it I'm like there's just no way Ricky wouldn't have noticed that at some point. And I knit a lot and you don't add labels to knitted hats anyway. So that bit didn't work for me either. I feel like I'm being so picky and I apologize. I can't help it. 😬 BUT those things are only tiny I swear and I loved this finale overall. Truly LOVED it!! Ricky's song to Gina is the most beautiful love song I've ever heard. I still listen to it all the time, it's incredible. DEFINITELY go and listen to the full version on Spotify because it's even better than the show version. They did HSM3 really well overall. The scene of Ricky and Gina giving speeches in the choir room breaks me every single time, that was beautifully done and really felt like the actors talking rather than the characters. I enjoyed Miss Jenn's journey in these last episodes of figuring out that Broadway is no longer her dream, teaching at East High is. I loved that. EJ coming back could've easily felt forced but all his scenes in this felt really needed. Same with Dani and Mack actually, during these 8 episodes they both went from annoying characters to characters I actually quite like. Ashlyn and Maddox are SO damn cute, that kiss was perfect. The storyline of Seb coming out to his dad felt a little forced in there but it's such a great message to give and they did it well so I liked that it was included. Ricky's growth from s1 to now is incredible, him being so supportive of Gina following her dreams was amazing to see. And every song was performed really really well, most of the endgame couples I agree with which NEVER happens for me lol, the plot as a whole a very good, they wrapped it up in a satisfying way, that last song of all the actors singing For Good SO well was just everything and yeah I really did love it. I'm going to miss these reactions a lot. Sorry for talking so much lol, I get excited and then I can't stop the thoughts coming out. 😂 Fingers crossed HSMTMTS comes back again one day in some form. 🤞

I literally SOBBED watching this season. Especially these last 2 episodes. I just love Ricky and Gina so bad. I’m really hoping we’ll get a reboot in a few years. Like with all of them in college or something. Even if it only features Rina I’m SAT! I need more. I’ve been going through withdraws 😭 so being able to relive it again with you was AMAZING! I miss my children 🥲

i agree with EVERYTHING you said!! i didn’t say it on the reaction but i did wish we saw them graduate cause that would’ve been perfect. i feel like if they gave them one more season we would’ve gotten those small little things that we all wanted. overall tho, this show was truly amazing and i do hope somehow they bring it back for more🫣

You’re not alone girl…I was hyperventilating, gagging, and dizzy because I was sobbing so hard watching the last episode…couldn’t eat for the whole day and swear I was dehydrated and I wish I was joking…them taking their final bow, Gina’s speech and Love You Forever took me alllll the way out and then the cast singing For Good dealt the final blow. I was crying for days after too LOL

Oh man, I just love this series soooo much, to have watched this series since basically Day 1 just make me feel good with life cause this show is one of my favorites of all time, and is basically the reason I joined the Patreon. One thing that I always love in this show is about the dancers, they kept the core of them through S1, S2 and S4 (cause S3 being in the camp was correct to have different dancers) and when they said the name of some of them it was their ACTUAL names and you can see how emotional they were in the last song. It doesn't matter to me how many times I watch this show, I will always cry with Nini's farewell in S3, and this 3 last episodes, the finale with Ricky putting his hand in his chest like if he was touching his heart and basically watching East High thinking like "Thank You" gets me every single time. When Ricky said to Mack "I wish there was 38 more episodes of this stupid show" is just a thing like if it was Joshua talking about HSMTMTS instead of Ricky. Oh I've always hated of much they talked about the "The Boy Are Back" performance and THEY DIDN'T EVEN SHOW A BIT OF IT. ¿Gina's mom? Oh man, I hated her EVERY SINGLE MOMENT that she had on screen, like she never actually cared about Gina or what she wanted, she only wanted for her to be "successful" not matter the cost. I will never get tired of this show, I just everything about it but S3 and S4 are the better ones. And also, a lot of times I thinked about this show like a Glee son that did almost everything right and haved basically only good characters. The "High School Musical" song, it was mor about the actors instead of the characters, principally after the Big Red-Andy/Antoine part, just as the Gina's segment. The end of the series was mostly about the actors feelings rather that the characters story, they knew it was the last time together likr that, so it was just right to do it that way. PD. Loved your reactions girl, even when you made me somehow angry about some things in S2, but you are amazing, thank you for reacting at this show.
