Upon watching the fifth episode for the first time, I began to be captivated by the characters of Davina and Marcel. Up until this point, I didn't care about any of the characters outside of the originals and Hayley. Although I didn't dislike anyone, I didn't care about any of them because I wasn't familiar with them. I love the similarities between Klaus' view of Marcel as a son and Marcel's view of Davina as a daughter. I have a strong affection for Rebekah and Marcel, even though some people find their relationship disturbing because Marcel was a ten-year-old when he first met her, and she was supposed to be his 'aunt' because Klaus is his father. However, I still find it appealing. It only works on a show like this. I would hate it on any other show but because it's a show about vampires. Regardless of who they date, vampires will always be older, and that's something we as an audience just have to deal with. Living in the same house that Marcel used to be a slave in is crazy disrespectful. 'Nobody hurts my family and lives' he says while everyone in Mystic Falls is still breathing.

Can we talk about how Marcel, as a vampire, could hear Hayley's baby heartbeat? He has a strong dislike towards people who harm children, and every reactor who has reacted to this episode always jumps to the conclusion that Marcel kidnapped Hayley.

It's amazing how Anges had the guts to kill Klaus' child and then wanted to appear scary after they caught her. What did she think would happen if that baby had ended up dying? That they all would have just moved on, let her live, not caring that she was still breathing after killing a baby?
