You have to remember that season one of TO take place aside season five of TVD. There would be no excuse if the writing hasn't gotten better after four seasons. Also I think because TO isn't introducing the Mikaelsons to us but like development them more that's why it's better like in tvd. Because at this point like we're already supposed to know them in tvd, and like you either like them or you don't. And you said it in your video from yesterday about how you don't think we're supposed to like Klaus because he technically the villain but I think that why TO work better because they treat the Mikaelson like the villains they're whether than TVD who treats Damon and Stefan like the hero's

You're right that the writers grew and became better after years of doing TVD, but in general a lot of people would like TO and not feel the same about TVD probably because of the High School element, brothers love triangle, Elena's 'chosen one' doppelganger plots etc. TO has better and more unique plot lines and actually morally grey characters. Love TVD but it leans a lot on fan service moments and cliche character archetypes and decisions sometimes which TO def doesn't

Girl Nina plays SO many roles in this show, I promise you it isn't her acting. It's her acting as Elena, I also always felt disconnected to Elena in the first couple seasons. I think Nina wasn't sure who the character even was until season 3 and on, but for other bolder characters she will leave you speechless every time

yeah i think you’re right, i think it really is elena. cause when she showed up in The Originals as Elijah’s lover she was perfectly fine to me. Obviously the writers probably play a part on their acting as well so I do believe what y’all are saying that as the seasons go on the acting and overall characters get better!

Honestly, season 1 is so incredibly cringy to me but seasons 2,3&6 are sooo good. Hopefully after the originals you can watch TVD at some point. Especially because you might not understand very specific plotlines in TO or how they're possible without tvd. Me personally, I can't stand a majority of the characters in both shows but I love them so much.

Also, Damon died at 24 Stefan died at 17. Thats why Damon was always icky to me but he's so charismatic that I tolerated him.

I get what u mean about the acting tbh . I feel like everything tvd does , the originals improved on massively. The stefan/ Damon dynamic feels very similar to klaus and elijah. Also stefan is a specific type of vampire which means once he tastes blood he can't stop usually till there dead. Damon is supposed to be mid 20s. Katherine is such a good character and the acting is much better and yeah she's different to elijahs first love which was tatia. Btw klaus was the original who was part of the Salvatore brothers sire line.

Honestly, I hate love triangles, and in TVD, that’s not the storyline I’m most interested in—I didn’t even care about the love triangle. What I find much more interesting is the relationship dynamic between Stefan and Damon and the story surrounding them. Season 1 is my least favorite, and I much prefer the later seasons, especially seasons 2, 3, and 6. I hope you’ll keep watching TVD because it could make your experience watching TO even more interesting. I remember watching season 1 of TO before TVD, and honestly, it was pretty cool to watch them in that order. Anyway, don’t worry—in my opinion, the plot gets better and better as the seasons go on. Unpopular opinion: my favorite character are Stefan and Caroline !.

im so glad i’m not the only one who can’t stand love triangles anymore! i used to love them growing up but now… not so much. i also love caroline, that poor girl has been THROUGH it. as i said, as long as you guys request, I will watch :)

I pretty much feel the same way about Elena that I do Cami, but I can tolerate Elena more because she’s a teenager. Teenagers are supposed to be reckless, stupid over a boy, and constantly putting themselves and everybody else in danger while acting like it makes sense. Cami, though? That’s a grown woman making dumb choices for no reason. She keeps inserting herself into stuff that isn’t even hers to begin with. Most of those dark objects belong to Kol, and now we find out some of them are from Vincent’s old neighborhood too. She could’ve easily just gave them back and minded her business, but instead she keeps choosing to be involved for no reason.

Your emotions and senses are heightened when you’re a vampire so to balance it out, vampires have a mental switch that they can just turn off which pretty much turns off their humanity. It’s a relief but can also be extremely dangerous because a vampire with their humanity switch turned off doesn’t care who they hurt or who they kill and they have no remorse. The Originals also can’t force or compel a vampire to turn their humanity switch off or on because they have to be willing to, you have to convince them to turn on their humanity switch willingly without compulsion. Also, Mystic Falls is in Virginia

Elena gets so much hate but I love her character. I hate Katherine. She’s a good character for the show/plot but I just don’t like her as a person.

im gonna be continuing it in the future but only watching the episodes with the Michaelson’s in it since I really enjoyed The Originals ☺️
