The Golden Evolution - Former humans converted into something new. Sometimes—no, most times... People resist the conversion, meaning the tethers can't make their connection to them. The GE will pleasure the future convert to clear their mind of enough thought and connect from the upper atmosphere.

You find yourself hiding in the built-in wardrobe after you signaled Zoey, your partner, to follow you, but she gets caught by them. Out of extreme curiosity and hope you might just be able to save her, you open the door to find three of them, two holding her and one standing watching. There's not much hope of helping her or even escaping yourself.

(This'll be longer, and there's still some quirks that need ironing out.)
