What is the VIC-42? Alcohol and Acetone Test and Ideas

Perifractics video on retro Recipes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tqLi3En3wk In this video we take a look at the mysterious Commodore MOS VIC-42 chip that Perifractic showed in his video this week. Since the seller was local I dis some digging and also got a chip for testing. I compared it to another MOS Koria made chip and tested alcohol and acetone on both. Recent videos include the examination of a pair of Mac SE/30s from a garage sale, Some Commodore 64 restorations and even a rusty old pipe wrench I found while building the shop. We have also completed a Commodore 64 with a psychedelic problem, a 1984 Osborne Executive unboxing and restoration, a 1970s HP 45 scientific calculator restoration and several videos repairing and restoring Commodore 64s and a dead 1541 disk drive. At RavenWolf Retro Tech we restore and explore vintage technology. Now that we are moved into the new shop, the frequency of videos is increasing. I’ll keep putting out videos as I can but I promise to focus on higher quality videos that don’t waste your time over frequent, low effort projects. I currently have about half a dozen videos in various states including a series on a Mac SE/30 restoration, part 2 of the Osbourne Executive Restoration (I know, its about time) and a video on Commodore 64 video output options.
