THEA500 Mini Prototype Charity Auction Launch (Patreon)
Content
Dear Supporter
Since year one at Perifractic's Retro Recipes we have tried to do our bit to give back to the community, and to charity, including:
- A giveaway of my original full-size Brixty Four
- A giveaway of THEC64 Mini inside a real C64
- Other unboxings sent on at random to channel supporters
- Donating the working Team17 Amiga 4000 & accompanying items to the National Videogame Museum in Sheffield who just launched an exhibition centred around it in October 2022
- Auctioning the Amiga 4000 used on the set of Titanic - which now sits fully working in Home Computer Museum, Amsterdam - with all proceeds going to a charity for orphaned children in Kenya
When RGL kindly donated THEA500 Mini working prototype to us with serial #1 (alpha firmware), I stated on the channel that we would do another charity auction in the future, and that time has come!
The auction includes the main computer with alpha firmware (not upgradeable), working prototype gamepad, and working prototype mouse, all in their original condition as shown in the photos.
I really wanted to give everyone a chance by doing this as a raffle, but raffles are unlawful except in special cases here in California (they are classed as gambling) so we are limited to a straightforward auction once again. A receipt for the final donation will be sent by eBay to the winning bidder. 100% of the proceeds will go to St Jude's Children's Hospital, Los Angeles; a wonderful organisation we have been a supporter of for several years and where parents never receive a bill.
Click here to bid now on THEA500 Mini prototype, and above all may we wish you the very best of luck!: https://ebay.us/qe6IUl
Thank you to Retro Games Ltd. for sharing the prototype with Retro Recipes.
Your friend in retro, Perifractic
