We've got lots going on in the ЯR kitchen at the moment. As I type this, a real TARDIS is being painted onto the inside studio door (yes, the one you've seen in The ЯRetro Show has been superimposed in editing up until now). Also a fun idea for the other door that I've always felt was a bit awkwardly placed... we're turning it into the Airport exit door from Spy vs. Spy! I figured, instead of trying to hide it why not make it a feature. Anyway, that's all being done ready for the next main video filming.

In the meantime I saw this video doing the rounds recently and couldn't resist giving it a restoration. Not only is it upscaled to 4K (albeit not reaching Björk quality - remember bad footage in = bad footage out) but thanks to YOU I also invested in some dust and scratch removal software to really tidy up the original from the BBC Archives. The original is linked in the video description for comparison.

Alongside Knight Rider and Airwolf I think this is one of my top 3 themes of all time, and I hope you enjoy this cleaned up insight!

We've upscaled & restored (under Fair Use copyright law as "transformative" work) the 1982 BBC TV piece where Peter Howell of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop demonstrates to Tim Whitnall how he reimagined Ron Grainer's classic Doctor Who theme - which was first realised so startlingly by Delia Derbyshire and Dick Mills in the 1960s - to make it 'brighter and more modern sounding' for the 1980s. He uses modern polyphonic analogue synthesisers like the Yamaha CS-80, an ARP Odyssey Mk3 and a Roland Jupiter-4, a vocoder and an old, malfunctioning phase shifter unit he found in the back of the Workshop. At the end he demonstrates the Fairlight CMI Series II synthesiser to the kids from St Mary's Balham Primary School and hosts Tim Whitnall and Lucie Skeaping. I remember on Shooting Stars there was a guess the music round with Vic Reeves sat there all calm with the Doctor Who bass line intro dum-dum-dum etc. Then he launches into this really loud OOOOHH-EEEEEEE-OOOOOOO. I just can't find the video of it though.

I never got into Doctor Who but this was super cool to watch. Thanks!
