Episode 4 - Progress Report #1 (Patreon)

Hello everyone

It's been a bit over a week since the Episode 3 release, and what a week it's been! But first of all, welcome to all the new people here 😊!

I've been eagerly reading all your comments for the new episode, thanks for all the feedback. I'm super happy to see the very positive response so far! It's certainly a great motivator to see so many people liking what I create.

Of course I'm also grateful for all the mentions of things that you think could be improved on. One thing I've seen brought up quite a few times is your wish for more player agency. I can say it's always been the plan to keep things in the beginning a bit more restrictive and gradually opening up to more choices and variance as the story progresses.

These things need a lot of consideration and planning, and sometimes the only way to make things work are to keep the story on railroads for a bit. But still, my goal is always to leave important decisions to the player as often as possible, as long as the story doesn't suffer from it and I can keep the different threads at a manageable scope.

I consider Episode 3 still part of the "setting up" stage of the VN. I think you'll see some changes in Episode 4 where you'll start to encounter some choices with a heavier impact.

Now, progress for Episode 4: I have sketched out the episode and started writing as well. I think I probably have written ~50% of the first draft. How much of that draft will stick and how much will need to be redone I can't say yet. I will say though that writing this episode so far has been much less difficult than the last one. I will probably need another week or two to finish the draft, afterwards there'll probably be some reworks. Only after that's done I'll start doing renders. So don't expect any previews for at least another 3 weeks. 

In the meantime there'll be polls and some bonus stuff as well. I will start doing pin-ups of the girls soon. They'll be available for Silver and Gold tier.
