Archive Sunday #1 (Patreon)
Content
Welcome to the CSH Patreon! We'll be going through our archives chronologically and posting about them weekly leading up to a live stream chat with the band to go over what we've seen that month.
DISCLAIMER: Many of these photos for the first few weeks will be photos that people have seen from the 1TD Patreon page. Until we catch up you'll see some duplicates. But you'll also be getting new pictures from the rest of the band! Okay, onward...
Starting off on the first CSH tour in 2015 before Seth and Ethan had officially joined the picture (we will break this tour up into 2 posts). We played our very first show at Will's old stomping grounds, The Meridian on the William and Mary campus. The Meridian was a coffee shop that also did shows. This tour was with our old bassist, Jacob, so no that's not Seth with a giant beard. Also to note, it looks like our manager Mike is in the crowd but he wasn't our manager yet.
This post also puts us in Charlottesville at a place called Magnolia House. This was a super tiny house show venue and there couldn't have been more than 20 or 30 people there. The bathroom was so dirty it required a picture. As the openers played, an older gentleman was in the kitchen cooking food and pounding Evan Williams whiskey. One of the openers told everyone their band name was their social security number and proceeded to play noise music while rolling around on the ground.
WT: This was an interesting start to touring. Matador had just signed us, but it wasn't public yet, though once we got to New York there would be a lot of "buzz" from "insiders". It was our only tour before signing on with our booking agent Ali, who has booked us in the US from late 2015 until the present day. Reader, I am glad I don't book shows. I remember this being a nightmare to coordinate - lots of drop-outs, "maybes", and trying to figure out where we can sleep after the show. I do miss the chaos and variety of these small house shows, though.
