MavenCree

Been waiting all day for this. :D

Lauretta

Omg yesss totally forgot you were starting this

Sophie biasland x

WE HAVE THE SAME REACTION SEEING BEAUTIFUL GONGJUN HFDJJDDJ

MavenCree

Yes, it was more of brotherly vibes with that dead hallucination guy.

MavenCree

And your "Oooh, more spinning." literally had me choke on a piece of pineapple I'd just put in my mouth. LOL

JoannaB

You watched Advance Bravely? I wonder what you will think of chemistry between both pairs. I think WOH producers were more daring (you will see), but chemistry was great in both series. I loved Gong Jun in both roles.

Lenne

Brittany, you are going to need wine for this. Trust me.

a.Lynn

So excited to see what you think of this show!

Bethany R

I'm with you on the "nono no no no" after that ending lol

MavenCree

After watching your reaction here, I continued watching episodes, as I do... Um... Remember for The Untamed when you had to switch to a whole bottle of wine.... Maybe keep one on ice for Episode 6... And have a spare cat handy if you can. Just sayin'. :) (And for those who know, yes, I'm talking about THAT.)

en

love how you fell for our girl axiang cause most reactors don't really like her when starting this show 😆 her and her whip is just 👌✨💕

Rhast

So, I had so many thoughts. First. It's the same actor@@@!!!! (LOL The live steam was hilarious) I love the uncut reaction! I love getting to watch it with you! This episode went so quickly, and normally this episode kinda drags for me because it's so much exposition. But "watching" it with you made it fly by. THANK YOU! "Is he the King of Lanterns?" I about died. Um...I guess? Second, Our Main Lead has issues. Yes. Hope you love angst and trauma. I hope you paid attention to what happens when you get the 7 nails, and so you kinda pay attention for that. Third: Yes, brotherly more than unrequited. Last off the top my head: "Why do I love her?!" YES!! Love purple girl!! What an ending. I'm so sorry you can't just binge the entire series.

Ahhh yes you've started WOH!!! Everything is beautiful in this show (the costumes, the set, the actors, the fight choreography).... argh. Cannot WAIT to keep (re) watching with you and thank you for the uncut! Also: it is the same actor for hot beggar Zhou Zi Shu and hot assassin Zhou Zi Shu.

jazz

LOVED (re)watching ep1 with you! can't wait for you to get to know everyone, it's such a great cast of characters.

Andreea C.

OH MY GOOOOOOD!!!! I've been waiting for this! This show is everything! The actors, the sets, the costumes, THE CHEMISTRY 🤌🏻 I'm so excited to go on this journey with you! This might actually be my 5th re-watch and I'm still not able to get past ep 33, so I'm hoping I'll get over this hurdle with you. Thank you so much for making my day better with your content! This was a great start to my day! Lots of love and have a nice day! 💜❤💜❤💜

Pepe-G

I just love WOH~ ❤️❤️ everything is so freaking beautiful. The sets the ropes, the people and the fighting. Just AaaaaaaAaaA! 😆 I look forward to your reactions to this~~ It'll be fun

Kelly Green

This show really is non-stop greatness, so good luck with fitting in commentary. lol Also, I have started taking notes while watching your reaction vids since I can't join live-streams. DX Anyway, it was hilarious when you said you didn't need alcohol for the first episode of WoH considering it could be summed up as: why Zhou Zishu chose death. I am looking forward to you getting to see the opening and ending credits, since they are beautiful, but have a lot of spoilers. The opening song, Tian Wen/ Heavenly Question, was actually in this episode, starting when Zhou Zi Shu leaves after getting the last nail. There is also another important song, Lonely Dream, which is sung by Zhang ZheHan (Zhou Zi Shu) which plays when he is in the snow after giving Uncle Bi the nails. Anyway, even though it was a fairly low budget show in terms of locations, it is such a pretty show. Zhou Zi Shu is absolutely gorgeous, though I must admit, he glows up so much with his hair down and we did not see enough of that in this episode. So yeah: goddamn pretty AND an almost unstoppable badass. I adore him. As for his junior, yeah, just bro vibes there. This show was sponsored by a nut company, so there is product placement, but that said, that is because walnuts did feature in the book. Last few notes, easiest way for a male character to completely win me over is to give him a fan. i.e. Nie Huaisang and Wen Ke Xing. Zhou Zi Shu is played by one actor. I love how Zhou Zi Shu makes his actions look drunk and uncoordinated, when they are beautifully timed and executed. Finally, it's interesting that Zhou Zi Shu re-opens the nail injuries to make them look fresh for when he receives the final nail. P.S the last name of the MC in Guardian is Zhao and so I have to be super careful not to get the two names mixed up, since I am currently watching that and rereading the book. lol

Jeanet Henning

Brittany: “Maybe I won’t need alcohol for this one.” Oh the OPTEMISM. Also, you are correct Bi is is not pronounced “bi” is pronounced like be in beginning. Yep to the brother vibes. Also just to clarify because I think you might’ve missed it but Prince Jin noted that ZZS had already been ill for a year so the first 12 months of his 4 and a half years is already lost. Also just prepare for the gay cause that look that they shared upon seeing each other for the first time, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I didn’t know how much I missed you fawning over scenery, martial arts etc until this. So good to be watching a Chinese drama with you again! Also, sorry for the long comment.

Anonym WLW

So, erm, hi! I’m new here on Patreon, I’ve been subscribed to you on YouTube for a while now, but then you said Patrons would get uncut reactions to WoH and yeah. Here I am. Absolutely worth it! Pronunciation wise, I think “Bi” is pronounced more like “bee” and Zhou Zishu kind of like “Joe dsi shoo” (though take that with a grain of salt - I learned solely by listening and English isn’t my first language so transliteration is a little hard.) Names are going to get easier soon, though! Otherwise, yeah, this episode does a lot of setting up so there’s not that much to say. Maybe take note of what the hairpin means (the one Qin Jiuxiao (Zishu’s junior) gave to the princess) and keep in mind what the nails do - reducing someone’s martial arts and making them lose their senses one by one. I think everything else was already said in the livestream. Oh, and also: the relationship you mistook for unrequited was more a brotherly one, but they’re martial siblings, between whom a more romantic relationship is entirely possible. Anyways, I really enjoy rewatching the series with you and am looking forward to next week!

Demi Schoonenberg

I loved this uncut reaction so much! I cannot wait for you to become totally obsessed with this show. The leads are sooo beautiful, it’s ridiculous. Also, can we talk about that scene when they look each other in the eye for the first time?! I wished I was holding Wen Ke Xing’s fan when that moment happened. Prepare yourself for many more scenes like this one. The censors were really sleeping during this show!

en
>>61774039

oh yes, the hairpin and nails 😔✊

Liliana Alves

hahahaha watching you think that theres two different actors playing zhou zi shu is freaking hilarious after your stream ^^ but i kneewwww you were gonna love this show, im sooo excited to go through this journey with you :D

Erin Hartley

Happy belated birthday! I'm so happy you started watching WoH now. I've started watching your channel (and joined your Patreon) when you were doing The Untamed, and I've wanted to comment many many times, but didn't know if I should. But by now I'm at least far enough in my confidence to actually ask you to clarify your spoiler policy. No spoilers, sure, that's clear so far. But... When something is shown on screen, or the characters talk about it on screen, and you happen to miss it. Does me pointing it out count as a spoiler? I'm not talking about things that are up to interpretation for the viewer, but actual information given in the dialogue. I'd like to know your stance on that - not knowing has kept me from commenting on your Untamed reactions (which, honestly, might have been a good thing *g*)

CryptidRadish

One of my greatest joys is watching how INCREDIBLY ANGRY you get about beautiful set design and clever plot points 😂 I am so looking forward to you reacting to this series! (I finally got around to watching it, and I’m excited to watch along with you for my first rewatch!)

goldmund

You finally started WOH! I enjoyed it so much and can't wait to see you next week!

Leonardo Despacito

"I would snatch the headdress" GIRL ME TOO! seriously everything about this series is so stunning and ahhhh I can't wait or more!!

Sara

I'm so excited for your world of honor reactions! Especially since they will be fully uncut and we can fully watch along with you. Your excitement levels just for the first episode though has me both eagerly awaiting and concerned for your health for how your going to respond to later episodes haha. You will love this show. Then it would be great if you watched the concert/behind the scenes and fall even more in love with the actors/actresses behind the show because they are a total hilarious riot of a cast that I will research and watch other shows they've been in. My first Chinese drama was the untamed, but since then I found guardian and word of honor and have to say I've never been disappointed yet.

Ahhh that's a good question: yes, under the specific circumstance where I miss a bit of exposition it's totally fine to comment with the info. As a (super basic) example--if I'm wondering what a character's name is and a character said the name earlier in the episode, the absolutely help me out and tell me what their name is. If I'm wondering what a character's name is but the show hasn't told me yet for whatever dramatic reason, I prefer not being told. It's great to hear from you! Don't worry at all if only feel comfortable commenting rarely or not at all, I love it when you guys comment but I respect the boundaries of people who need to lurk. <3

So excited to see how you take to it!This show kills me because it's so freaking beautiful. I read somewhere that they composed a lot of the long shots to look like ancient ink paintings. This show had such a tiny, itty bitty budget, but they spent the money where it would SHOW. (Apparently a lot of the minor character actors just happened to be in town and be on good personal terms with the director and producer, so a lot of small parts have very seasoned actors. All these shows are filmed in the same area-- it's like British Colombia or something--So a lot of small parts were cast by "Who's in town and likes me well enough to shoot on their day off?")

en
>>61791027

yeahh they even had to wait for real rain to shoot the raining scene. The crew kinda just accepted that this drama was done for but you could tell they were having fun making it and put their effort and love into this drama. But then it got TOO popular and they panicked cause having that much attention on a BL adaptation drama might just get them taken down 🤣

Same~~ XD the he address was super preyy~ and she doesn't need it anymore 👀😆

nana

I'm here!!! I don't have anything to add, I'm just glad to be here :)) Can't wait to watch more :D

Alice's Dream

Hi! I just became a patron for Word of Honor, I loved your reaction but I wasn't able to watch the livestreams. Every time I click the link it just says the video is unavailable because its a private video.... Any idea how to fix this? I'd love to be able to watch the livestreams... Either way thank you Brittany for your reaction!!!!

brittanydiamond
>>62023165

That's weird, since I have them as Unlisted they should open for anyone with a link. I'll see if I can figure it out for next time, for now the streams go public tomorrow and won't give you any trouble then. =)

riri momo

Hi, I am a silent watcher. But I decided to say that your reaction reminded me of myself. I do all these things in my mind😝🤣 I will watch your reaction for now on and comment once in a while so don't mind me plz🙌

brittanydiamond
>>63032445

Comment as much or as little as you like, darling, we're very 'no pressure' around these parts. And thank you for being here! <3

Kish

I’m rewatching the previous reaction vids while waiting for your new ones and this line - “He’s pretty, he’s badass, and he comes with lanterns. Done. Sold. I’m in love” - is probably Wen Ke Xing’s thought process ngl 😂
