Well, as some of you might have noticed, I have not been very much online for the last few weeks or so. Well, for a while now my computer has been breaking down. It has made it very annoying to work on, finally breaking down entirely. I've spent a lot of time trying to fix the issue, but the sad truth these days seems to be that laptops just aren't reparable anymore, especially when it comes to physical parts. Not even professionals seems to want to do shit, apart from "oh we'll keep it for a couple of weeks and see if there's something we can do, and it might cost almost as much as a new one."

So, yeah, this week it finally gave up the ghost for good, so to speak. I didn't loose any data of importance thanks to having it on dropbox, but oh boy is it still troublesome. I bought a new computer (probably more expensive than I should have, but I didn't want it to break down again and stuff gamers like tends to be more durable) but now everything needs to be downloaded, adjusted, sorted, filed and oh boy, my autism is not handling this well. I now have to learn how to live with win 11, and try to figure out how to hunt down and remove copilot as well as cortana. I had forgotten how terrible it was to surf the web without all the layers of privacy protection, just wading through things with edge at the start before downloading my usual stuff was... wow.

So, anyway, long story short, new computer, nothing feels the same, the keyboard is nice, but also weird, and the keys glow like bloody rainbows when I type. I don't even know if I like that or hate it, guess time will tell. It will be a while before it feels mine again, I do not handle change well. The power cord is in the wrong spot even! Yes, first world problems, but I just want to get to the point of feeling comfortable with it again so I can write instead of having to go uuuuugh to fix stuff so it feels right.

Thank you so much for supporting me! Seriously, it is thanks to you that I am able to go and buy a new computer right away and having this be an annoyance and not abject misery. Thank you so much, truly. I don't know what I would have done without you.

In better news, I have been working on the puppet in jail path, so you'll get a taste of that soon! Not the full demo, there are another path I need to tie in there first, but I am having fun writing it.

Aaaand in the meantime, please ask your questions for this month here!

Just a heads up, on a lot of keyboard I've used you can turn off the lights, so if you don't like them you could always do that.

It is possible to turn off the keyboard lights, depending on what you have. You can look it up on YouTube. You may need to deep dive to fully get rid of Cortana, because unfortunately they like to "interweave" (make ot difficult to find and get rid of) it into the damn system. Never heard of a copilot though, sorry I have no idea. If you use chrome I recommend switching to Firefox, or at least adding some extentions for privacy and protection. You can usually find them on reccomendatkkn websites, or if you're feeling up to it, Reddit does have good recommendations at time.

If you're worried about this happening again you could get an external hard drive and back up your system onto it. So that way if it gives you guff again you'll be able to keep your apps. Could possibly store a system backup on Dropbox as well but I've never done it before. So not sure on that. As to recovery, you might be able to ask the computer professionals to remove the hard drive from the old laptop and create a backup of the system for you and then you could restore from there. Not sure if they'd do it though.

Ah, yeah, Windows 11 sucks. It's manageable though. I'm kind of partial to backlit keyboards but it might just be because I'm a gamer.

Is the QA for April still on it's way or did this throw wrench into that? Understandable if so. I remember getting irritated and angry at my computer for automatically putting stuff on onedrive when it was still new. New computers can be a pain in the ass
