Bad News Sweaty Meltdown (Patreon)

I had multiple power outages in the morning. There was a power outage when I was saving the project Sweaty Meltdown... It was the only save I had, no back-up. I have contacted the creators of the tool I used to make the game but the file is corrupted and I have no hope for it. I have been working on it since July 2023 and I've never made a different save file... It means that all the changes from Stinky Validation have been erased. The fight system, the skill system, script improvements and the game itself. (I still have all the graphics and the playable version on itchio.)

I'm pissed off and unmotivated to restart the whole thing. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do but you're informed. More news Wednesday.

Oh no :( So sorry that happened. Hopefully some good news comes from this though. Sweaty Meltdown looked like it has so much potential and it would be a shame to see the project abandoned :(

So sorry to hear that :C These kinds of things have become so rare that we've stopped taking backups (I know I don't), but that means every once in a while you lose a bunch of hard work. And that's one of the worst feelings. Out of curiosity, would you be able to get the version from itch.io and start from there? Or would you have to restart the whole thing over from scratch (aside from graphics)? Either way, I totally understand if that discourages you from wanting to continue with it.

I can't use the exported game as a project. I have saves for Paige's Footman but totally forgot to make saves for Sweaty Meltdown. It's the fighting system that would be painful to re-design. We'll see what I'll do.

That's what I was worried about. Kinda like with photoshop, where you can't get back a .psd from the finalized jpg or png. That sounds so frustrating though. Sorry again that it happened, and I support whatever you decide to do.

Sorry for what happened. You know I am one of the eager ones here always asking for news or updates, but as anyone here I care more for your mental health and simply your motivation. This is a step back but you will come on-top of it. I know it. Ty for the news. Take your time.
