Hiya nudies!

Happy Monday!

So, as some of you may remember, I visited Sunnyside Beach, 1 of 3 legal nude beaches within the state of Victoria, and one that currently has its clothing-optional status under threat.

Here is a video from my visit there from the beginning of January...

If you’re able to see this post, you have access to the current password also; it just means you need to read my most recent posts for the updated password.

I would highly recommend you read this blog I wrote before watching the video for some context also

Uploading this video to YouTube was time-sensitive as the Council were meeting about the clothing-optional status of the beach on 8 February.

Since that meeting, the local naturist community had a huge win in that the Council have decided to open up community consultation to the wider community, including the naturist community (as they had originally proposed that only local residents of within 50-100 houses closest to the beach would have a say as to whether the Council would go ahead and lobby the state government to revoke its clothing-optional status...and many of the nudists who have been visiting Sunnyside for the past 35 years are not that local).

So, a huge win for the local naturist community, who I know are fighting hard to ensure that this popular nude beach stays a nude beach.

Enjoy this watch and let me know what you think.

And please check out my blog whilst you're at it and support the pages I've recommended in the blog to stay up-to-date with the current situation surrounding Sunnyside 🙏🏽

Otherwise, sit back, relax and enjoy this fun little watch.

With love,

Jessa

Nude Beaches of Australia - Sunnyside Beach: a nude beach under threat

Join me for my first ever visit to one of Victoria’s most popular clothing-optional beaches, Sunnyside Beach (north). Having been informed about the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council’s decision to embark on a campaign that may see the clothing-optional status of Sunnyside Beach removed in 2022, I set out to see and experience Sunnyside for myself. Come along for the ride as I venture all the way from my hometown of Geelong to Mount Eliza on the Mornington Peninsula. With 1.5 hours of driving and a 45 minute ferry cruise to arrive at our nude destination, it was definitely well worth the adventure to experience, first-hand, this beautiful little nude haven. A tucked away little gem that requires trekking over some rocky terrain, this 500m of clothing-optional beach is definitely popular amongst the naturist community as it has the closest proximity to Metropolitan Melbourne out of the 3 legal nude beaches in the state. On the day that I visited, it was actually quite tricky to find an empty patch of sand! So, whilst it’s great to see such a bustling nude beach, it definitely makes filming a lot more challenging. You might notice that we’ve tried our hand at censoring people that popped up in the background, although our efforts are still rather novel and messy, we did the best we could do to film and censor where necessary (I know it’s a bit messy, but we tried!). Sunnyside Beach attained its clothing-optional status in 1986 but, sadly in 2022, the Council are threatening to lobby to have that title stripped. With it being 1 of only 3 legal nude beaches left in the state of Victoria, and following 2015’s revocation of Campbell Cove’s clothing-optional status, the looming threat is very real. So whilst it’s not my local nude beach, as a nudist who was born and raised in Victoria (but now lives in New South Wales), I still can’t help but feel disappointed and disgruntled on behalf of my fellow Victorian nudies. As a fellow nudist, I feel motivated to, at the very least, spread the word and do my part to advocate to help keep Sunnyside clothing-optional. So, get yourself some refreshments, sit back and enjoy. I, and the naturist community, would really appreciate your support on this. Thank you again for being curious and staying open-minded. Happy viewing! Jessa Xx
