Blessings Nude Yogi πŸ™πŸ½

This week's inversion will have your legs up and behind your head!

This is an inversion and one I would only recommend if you are practiced and have relatively strong core strength and somewhat flexy hamstrings. It is an intermediate to advanced level pose.

In the tutorial video, I do, however, also touch on modifications you can make if you're more of a beginner and don't quite yet have the core strength to get into this pose with straight legs; or for those of you have tight hamstrings.

Remember to move into and out of the pose mindfully. Breathe in the pose and enjoy the stillness this pose can provide you with.

PLEASE NOTE: I would suggest watching the tutorial first...however many times you need until you feel confident enough to give it a go on your own. I would not recommend doing it with me as you watch for the first time...because at NO time should you be turning your head in the pose to look at the screen! So, watch it through however many times you need first, and then give it a go...even if you're just listening to my verbal cues (and there's also the instructional photos you can reference beforehand too).

Preparatory poses: practice these poses before coming into Halasana. These preparatory poses will assist you in feeling more supported and ready to get into the pose.

  • Cat/Cow -  folder 6
  • Pachimottanasana - folder 8

Counter poses: these poses can be a great counter pos to practice or get into after practicing Shoulderstand.

  • Fish Pose - folder 67

⚠️PLEASE PRACTICE WITH CAUTION/OR AVOID IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:⚠️

  • Avoid if you are menstruating
  • Avoid if you have asthma, high blood pressure or heart issues
  • Avoid if pregnant

**Please always watch the video through as many times as you need before coming into the pose. It's better to know what you're about to practice rather than trying to practice as you watch it through for the first time. Watch it as many times as you need before even trying it...just to ensure you feel as comfortable and as confident as you need to feel to try the pose...and it is more beneficial in knowing first which variation or modification you'd like to take before automatically trying the pose in its full expression.

REMEMBER: if this pose feels too intimidating or you're simply not ready, that's ok! You can, instead, practice Viparita Karani for now.

You will find all the material, including the tutorial video and instructional photos, in our Dropbox folder via the link below (in folder 70)
