Dreams Do Come True (Early Access) (Patreon)

WOW. This one was something else. Even though it's just flat colors, it took as long as a fully-rendered pic! But this one does have three characters, and one of those characters is rather high-detail. ^^; Of course, I'm talking about Lateef. Seriously, I think more than half of my time working on this piece was spent on just Lateef. Thank God for Blender and the ability to undress him and view him from any angle, it was REALLY nice to have. It also really helped me get the details for drawing him. HEYOOOOO!

The text for this one took me longer than usual too, not just because getting it to match in-game subtitles demanded more than finding the right font, but I felt like the wording had to be VERY particular to convey the circumstances that lead up to this moment! The background of this pic, I imagine being that as part of his role as leader of the Dreamweavers, Lateef knows a thing or two about what dragons dream about. And whaddaya know, two dragons dream of each other in ways involving latent, secret desires that are very much in sync with each other! How fortuitous! It's practically destiny!

But they are kept hidden deep within their respective dreamers, so deep you wouldn't know it seeing how they behave when awake. Spyro will sometimes hang around Alban and attempt to take an interest in literature, and Alban will simply tolerate Spyro's frivolousness and informality as he does. But is there any obvious tension or chemistry between them? Naw.  Would it be embarrassing for them to act on their fancies? Would it be improper? Awkward? Or do they just pass off those dreams as anomalies and nothing more? Who knows. But based on dreams alone, they think about each other a lot, and Lateef knows it.

It is not a Dreamweaver's duty to interpret, share, or act on the dreams of a dragon. But to let such an opportune alignment slip away would be simply heartbreaking! Maybe in this one special case, Lateef is merely acting as a mediator, or a matchmaker, so to speak! Besides, it's not like Lateef isn't interested in this pair himself. And who knows, maybe this pair could become a trio! Dreamweavers dream too, after all...
