Gex's Cumshirt (WIP, colors #1) (Patreon)

Sigh. It's happening again. I flat colored the pic, and I was unsatisfied with what I saw. So I figured some simple background shading like what I did with the Spyro dragons would suffice. One thing is leading to another, and bit by bit, this is becoming a very detailed piece. It's all leading up to something... I'm getting the feeling I'm gonna detail Gex by the end of it too. Again, I know I said I'm gonna not do that so much because it's a LOT more work for a pic that people enjoy just as much or marginally more than a flat color piece. But something is telling me this one is demanding it.

What do you think? Does Gex look fine here? Or should I go all the way, even if it means taking longer to complete?
