Hi my loveliest of lovelies! 🌻☀️How's the season treating you lately? What choices do you want to make that will support what you desire and need?It can feel so pointless or unmotivating to make the little choices for yourself every day or week that you know are good for you, especially when the change isn't something you'll see right away.I notice this when I fall out of my yoga practice. The aches, stress and stiffness don't show from just a few days missed, but the consistent choice not to show up for myself. In the same way, my inner monologue/voice is much more kind and supportive than it used to be, but I have no idea when that happened. It was a gradual shift from - if I may be bold for a minute 😭😤 - hard work on myself. My therapist taught me to ask myself: "what would my compassionate self say/do here?", and not just make space for my "performance self". And to make little choices in my everyday life that sent the message of care and love. It sounds silly, but when I'd mess up and hurt myself intentionally, I would literally vocally say sorry to myself!Anyway, haha, I'm writing this because there's some habits I still want to shift, and I needed the reminder that change is slow. 🐌 I also want to celebrate how big of a difference little choices can make over time. Like choosing to be kind to yourself even (or especially) in the little everyday things. 🌻💛I'd love to hear some of your ideas for things you can do to send the message of compassion and care to yourself? Like drinking your coffee in your favourite spot instead of on the go, or making time for a hobby you enjoy? okay that's all for this mushy post thehe ☀️Love you!!!!

Love this :3 the magical shift when your inner voice start being nicer to you really shows that self care and showing up for yourself works. I’m endlessly proud of you my friend <3

aaaahhh how beautifully expressed Liv!!!! You're so right 😭😭💛💛 it's honestly so hard to believe it works until you start experiencing it. Thank you 🩷

This comes just at the right time, as I'm entering a season of coming back to more focused work on myself and on authentic self-care. I recently realised that even though I have worked on it before, without intentional practice the negative voice just seeps back in. But here we go again, another try at becoming consistently my own best friend. The first thing I try now is to ask myself "What do I need?" regularly. Sometimes the answer is "compassion" and then I get the chance to practice that towards myself. Not so easy, but I know I've been better at it, so I can do it again! Anyway, I am soo so happy that you give me the feeling of being in this together. Self-work can feel so lonely, but I'll just try to think about this post next time when I feel like there's no point. ❤️❤️ And I am super proud of you for having come to this point and for applauding yourself for your hard work 👏🥰

this gave me the BIGGEST smile, dancing 💛💛💛!!! I'm excited to hear you're practicing to ask yourself "What do I need?" because that's where I started!!!! It's a huge act of compassion. I still ask myself this, latest this morning haha! Sometimes when I want to explore further I ask myself: "What does my future self need?". You're so right, it IS hard to practice compassion, but the more you do it the more comfortable and smooth it'll be. It helps me to remember that everything I do stems from a point of care! When I get really anxious that too is just me wanting to protect myself. ❤️ I'm so inspired and motivated from your message, thank you for sharing it. Happy to be on the journey with you!❤️ and aaahh thank you!!!!!

Maxine (Dizzy)

Ahh what a perfect post... this is something i've been struggling with! But i've taken your advice to intentionally slow down and not rush through everything- and wow its already made a difference. I'll figure out small steps to do overtime .. full fear ahead!

Liv and Dizzy said it best... Self care and self compassion are both key to life. Thank you so much for sharing these feelings and thoughts. <3

Totally feel this—it's wild how one little slip can snowball. Skip a workout → don’t bother with a walk → “eh, might as well eat whatever” … next thing you know, you’re dragging around guilt and low energy into your vacation. But it goes the other way too. One small kind choice—like stretching for five minutes or actually enjoying your coffee—can set off a way better chain reaction. Appreciate the mushy post, it’s the kind of reminder that sneaks in right when you need it 💛

Awww Maxine, this means so much to read! ❤ It's so difficult to intentionally slow down but SO powerful! It can really shift SO much, Im' glad you're feeling it making a difference already! So proud of you ❤

JoyAileen

awww thank you Ottar, I appreciate this message so much ❤❤

YES exactly!! 💛 So well expresed, thank you! It's both motivating and intimidating. It's so easy to fall into a loop, and end up on autopilot too when there's constantly so much pulling at our attention. It's nice to be reminded how just five minutes of a good choice can make such a big difference long term. I don't know if you've heard my favourite swedish saying "många bäckar små, blir en stor å", it means: a lot of little creeks become a big river. Thank you Sterling ❤ Makes me soo happy you appreciated the mushy post 😭 and that it found you at a good timing. ❤
