Writing songs for me is a collection of lots of different emotions and creative stages. I decided I wanted to let you guys in on the process of one!It all usually starts with me improvising on the piano, matching the tunes with my mood and looking for things I like. I move on the the melody and I sing words (or nonsense) along with it. That's often how the lyrics start off but I always spend a lot of time on the paper trying to get a nice flow to the words.

If I don't make a song for someone I always use writing music as a way of expressing and dealing with things I'm going through. The story behind this one is current and close to heart for me, so much so that I couldn't help myself from crying writing the lyrics (which was a very relieving feeling, don't get me wrong.)

During the process of making the song I record along the way to remember what I sang - since I improvise everything until I find what feels right I tend to forget melodies I'm pleased with if I don't. The audio snippet I attached to this post is exactly that. A recording I made just for myself to remember what I created so far. No one else has heard this but you, and I'm thinking it could be cool for you to hear this song at this stage to see how it'll grow and bloom to it's final form.

These are the lyrics so far

I should have backed off, should have told you, not closer now, no closer now.

Filled with regret, you never should have let me in your heart, uh loved someone like me oh.

Storm so loud now, can barely hear you, but I can feel, I feel your pain.

My shoes are soaked, so hard to run when you are in my heart, when I fell for you too.

I can't wait to also share the finished project with you!
