My song "Out Of Air" is a great reminder to me to never ever give up, however dark things may seem.
I was already head under water deep in my depression when I lost someone close to me. This song is about the depression, the loss and that very moment when I felt like I just couldn't go on any longer.
But I kept going and I only through that got to learn just how much strength I have inside of me and how beautiful this world can be.
This is a special song to me, I'll always look back at it and hear that fragile voice begging to somehow heal, using that small glimmer of hope to promise to never give up. God was it worth it, it's always worth it.

LYRICS TO "OUT OF AIR":
I hold my breath, what went wrong? The water’s cold, I’ve been here too long.
Stolen by the thieves; all the colors that we used to see. I’m by the reefs, got to find the missing part of me.
I can’t find you down here. I’m running out of air. You’d see it in my eyes, I need you. I beg for you to come. Just hold me. I’m running out of air. I heard your voice, I cried your name. The sharks won’t leave, but I thought you came. They feel my fear, they can taste the blood from miles away. I’m in the dark, they would laugh I’m such an easy prey. I can’t find you down here. I’m running out of air. You’d see it in my eyes, I need you. I beg for you to come. Just hold me.I’m running out of air. I can’t believe I lost you, I can’t believe you’re gone. But I promise you, I’ll find my way home. I can’t find you down here. I’m running out of air. You’d see it in my eyes, I need you. I beg for you to come. Just hold me. I’m running out of air.

I used to not even be able to listen to this song, it just reminded me too much of that time. But today it serves as a good reminder that even though it seemed impossible to get out of that cold water I keep swimming (insert Dory singing "just keep swimming" here) and today I'm breathing full breathes. Remembering that we're in control of our own breath and we decide ourselves to never stop swimming.
I've attached the song as an mp3 file for you to download if you wish and you can also look at the video above I later did together with my friend Kajsa as a creative project (her dancing/acting and me filming/editing).
(OH one final thing I want to leave you with, regardless of what your belief is or isn't, hearing someone telling me that you won't ever be given something you can't handle helped me through some pretty tough moments. Regardless if you believe that's true or not adapting that belief might help when you feel like you can't do something. After all I've found that strong fear only occurs for me when I believe I can't handle something.)
ALL THE LOVE~ Joy
