Whenever I write a song I regularly record the process on my phone to help me remember and to be able to check back with a new perspective on what worked and what could be refined or changed. It helps me to not have any intention to share it, but simply use it as a tool to help me in the process (because boy do I hate when I improvise something I loved but then can't remember what the heck I did haha).

Today I would love to share one of those with you. This was from earlier this week in the process of a new song I named "All This Time".

LYRICS:

I grew quiet 'cause I couldn't stand the fear in my voice, the guilt in my tone and shame in my breath for who I am.

Why did it matter who I loved? Why couldn't I be like somebody else, with it all figured out?

All this time I've lost, hiding who I am.All this time I tried to be anyone but me.

There is no real way to describe how meaningful it is to be further into the process of reconnecting with such an intrinsic part of myself, as the expression of music. Thank you for being here for it, with me.

Lots of love 🧡~ Joy

Absolutely beautiful! Another look into the creative process. The way you express your feelings and articulate them through song is something so pure. Thank you again Joy, for sharing this journey with the ones you love and the ones that love you. 🙏🏽🧡
