Sometimes your mind works too hard. You have too many thoughts, too many ideas, and you put too much effort into trying to keep everything straight. You have to admit: thinking is hard.
In this new entry in my Idiot Training series, you’re going to take a break from all that exhausting thinking and let your mind slowly melt into something simpler, something dumb. This session is going to gently guide you into a relaxed state where thoughts drift away, your concentration fades, and your mind becomes quiet, soft, and empty.
As it progresses, I think you'll notice that thinking feels more and more difficulty, and eventually it's not really worth the effort at all. I'll show you that the happiest place to be is inside a calm, fuzzy little head with nothing important going on inside.
In this session I use a variety of classic hypnosis techniques to guide your mind into that dumb, empty-headed state:
Confusion techniques that softly overload your thinking mind until it stops trying to keep up.
Repetition of the phrase “Thinking is hard” to reinforce the theme and encourage mental slowing.
Pacing and leading language that guides you from normal awareness into deeper relaxation.
Imagery metaphors where thoughts drift away like clouds or fading lights.
Conversational hypnosis patterns that allow the experience to unfold naturally without needing to concentrate.
The goal of this session is to let you stop thinking for a while and enjoy the soft, floaty comfort of a quiet mind. By the time you return to the world at the end of the session, you may feel a little slower, a little simpler, dumber and happier. Remember: thinking is hard.
