October 2025 Update (Patreon)
Content
Hello all! This month's blog update will cover a lot of important topics, so please make sure to read carefully!
A Fortnight at Frenni Fazclaire's 2 v0.3 is expected to drop late 2025/early 2026. This will be the penultimate or ultimate update depending on two factors. The first factor is finding reliable translators, which has been a major issue. Many people have volunteered to be a translator, but (aside from one individual in particular) every single would-be translator has gone quiet and become unreachable after being given the translation files. The second factor is that Omega has expressed interest in trying to animate the H-Scenes. I'm happy to give them an opportunity to grow and expand their toolkit!
MalOvent is something that deserves a thorough discussion, so bear with me. v1.0 is still in limbo due to the same translation problems as above. However, mono and I have been talking about what to do and where to go next with the title. There are two major camps of people: One absolutely loves the story and content of MalOvent v0.3, while the other camp has overwhelmingly expressed grievances about such. The most common complaints are a lack of a "MalO-only" route that doesn't lead to death, and the sudden ending of Act 3. Other issues highlighted include a lack of H-Scene variety and (surprisingly) demand for more Zellen H-Scenes.
To address these concerns, mono and I are considering adding an entirely new act to the game (Act 4) with additional H-Scenes, modified story routing, and more quality of life features. However, the main issue facing us is the (somewhat) slow decline in Patron support. Right now I can afford to pay all of the team a proper rate, but we've lost over 800 USD in pledges over the past month. We recognize that times are tough, and that we can't ask people to take care of us before they take care of themselves. Still, we are in a rough spot.
We are therefore considering making an attempt at a Steam Edition launch of MalOvent with all these new features and content to justify a 3.50 to 4.99 USD price tag for non-Patrons (price not final). Tier 1 Patrons and up will receive Steam keys either through Itch integration or by me manually emailing each of you a key.
We do not have a timeline for this, nor are we 100% certain we'll be able to do it. If it turns out that Steam isn't in the cards, we will likely redirect our efforts to updating the free version on Itch. If you have questions or comments about this, give me a shout in Discord or here in the comments section.
Hell in the Sheets v0.3 is proceeding slowly. As mentioned in September, the art assets are already done, so it's just a matter of me writing and coding the script. The tricky part is that the game-within-a-game has extensive story branching, and accounting for all the twists and turns takes extra time compared to just writing lovey-dovey scenes with Taylor (of which there's 9 new ones in this coming update). My goal is to have the script completed by Halloween, but as always this is not a hard date. Beta testing will likely take 1-3 weeks once the script is finished, meaning we're looking at a release in November and beyond.
Behemoth's Curse is still on hiatus. Not abandoned, not dropped, just on pause for now. You'll get more 682 soon. Just be patient.
Alluvium is, unfortunately, being put aside or otherwise shelved for the time being. The overwhelming feedback about the concept was that people do want more SCP games, but that there wasn't really interest in SCP-999 herself. To add more or change the SCPs involved in such a game enters into scope creep territory. And considering the aforementioned financial woes, we can't feasibly take a risk on doing all that work when it'll be met with limited engagement.
That's all for now. Thank you all for the support you've shown us!
