Mid May 2026 Update (Patreon)
Content
Hi all! Time for the usual monthly update.
First up, Demon Wife à la carte v0.1 is slated for a release in June or earlier. We're only missing a few backgrounds and some voice acting work, so keep a close eye on your notifications! This first version has roughly 12k words and 7 unique H-Scenes, and reception among the beta testers has been encouraging. This is also the second game (Behemoth's Curse being the first) to offer SFX and limited voice acting during H-Scenes. We hope you'll enjoy the small detailing that went into this initial offering!
Next we have an announcement. Because Itch.io quarantined A Fortnight at Frenni Fazclaire's 2 (F@FF 2) without any warning or reply back on a support ticket, we've decided to bundle F@FF 1 & 2 into a free Steam release. This is what monorus is working on currently. The hope is that the visibility from Steam will help bolster community and patron numbers so that I can continue paying my artists (and myself) a living wage. No ETA, but watch those notifications!
Drakengine comes next. Agitype01 is currently sketching out all the enemies in the game. After that they just have to do the F-22 H-Scenes and backgrounds, then we can talk about a release. Our current thinking is to release the full F-22 route as a demo on Itch and Steam, then push for a comprehensive "full" paid version in late 2026/mid 2027. This will allow us time to craft not just aeromorphs but morphs based on boats, tanks, and more! Anyone who is a Tier 1 Patron and up will receive a Steam key as part of their patronage so long as they're active when the full game is pushed live.
Lavafalls University is coming along nicely. Nothing major to report here this month.
F@FF 3 has a change from last month's announcement. Croseneu and I struggled to come up with Morgana Gator's design in a way that fit the overall vibe and goals of the character. She just kept feeling like SCP 682 with a fresh coat of paint, which is not something we wanted. We ended up landing on an animatronic design that's unique and not something seen before: A Queen Bee. Buttercup (working name) is a Mk. III animatronic that you can unlock for good performance as the nights progress in-game.
The last thing to talk about is the overall shift in production here at NFW. Until now, we've been able to support our operations via Patreon and free hosting/visibility from Itch.io. However, as I said earlier in this post, the declining patron numbers and Itch's ability to just turn off visibility at a whim has made it difficult. Most exit surveys indicate that patrons are stopping due to financial situations changing, which it's perfectly valid and reasonable given the world we live in these days. This is why we're moving to be more Steam-focused in our releases - Both for visibility and for more supplemental income. Again, anyone who is an active Tier 1 Patron and up will receive Steam keys for games when they release, so you don't have to double pay. I will be going through and updating the tiers after this blog post to be more clear on that fact. Your continued support is absolutely appreciated and recognized as we shift gears.
That's all for now. Thank you all for the support! Stay safe out there!
