End of Oct 2026 Update (Patreon)
Content
Hi all. Time for the usual monthly update.
This is one of those updates where I don't have much to show in terms of pretty graphics that isn't a spoiler. Drakengine is proceeding along at pace, and F@FF: The Duology is still slated to release for free in November.
MalOvent: Keter Edition and Demon Wife v0.2 are stalled at the moment. Both require me to be on a certain wavelength to write, and right now that muse just isn't there for me. I can make progress on things like Drakengine because it's a different muse, but I still feel bad about those of you waiting patiently for an update to Demon Wife.
To try and put the current roadblock in perspective: Imagine you have the ability to make ice cream. The first few times you make ice cream, you don't think it's all that special. But people want it anyway. So you try to learn and improve the ice cream you're making. You start releasing multiple flavors, and you feel pretty good about yourself for a little while.
Then depression hits. You lose several things and people that are important to you. Making ice cream isn't easy for you any more. All you can seem to make properly is Rocky Road. But you promised people that they'd have strawberry and mint chocolate chip flavors soon. So you try to push yourself to do something. Anything. But all that keeps coming out is Rocky Road. That makes some people happy, but not everyone.
People stop coming to your little ice cream parlor. "All he makes is Rocky Road! He's washed up!" So you feel even worse. You've let people down. You can't pay your staff as much any more, and it's all your fault. If you could only make something that wasn't Rocky Road, then things would be better. But you don't remember how to capture that internal drive that helped you make all those different kinds of ice cream in the past.
I think I can stop the metaphorical monologue there. I completely understand if you feel like your Patreon subscription isn't worth the cost as I navigate this rough patch in terms of writing. I absolute hate it when creators milk their Patrons by stringing out updates unnecessarily without any form of communication. All I can do is promise that when Demon Wife v0.2 (and other projects) finally comes out, it will be the exceptional quality you've come to expect from NIGHT FOX WORKS.
That's all for now. Thank you all for the support. Stay safe out there.
