(* The Race of Champions Nations Cup App is available for free here)

Get the Drivers Cup App here

Here's how to play this ROC Drivers Cup App :

The process is almost identical to the Nations Cup with only a few differences.

After extracting the archive file to your apps/lua folder (in your Assetto Corsa installation folder), you should have a “roc” folder in the “lua” folder.

Open this “roc” folder and you should see the files below :

Now double-click on the “drivers.txt” file to open it and you should see something like below in it :

Let’s explain what is inside this file :

We have 17 lines here : as you can see on each line we have the driver name first, followed by a comma and a number.

The driver name is pretty obvious, the number is the driver strength (like in the Nations Cup App, increase it to make the driver faster, and decrease it to make the driver slower).

The maximum value for this strength is 200 and the minimum is 66.

You can change the driver names and the driver strengths.

For now, stay with these 17 drivers (no more no less).

The “drivers_prequalified.txt” file

If we open this file, we can see something like this :

Like we had in the previous file, there are a list of drivers in this file. But here we have only 2. These 2 drivers are prequalified drivers, that means that they are already qualified for the quarter-finals (the 17 drivers – and YOU – in the drivers.txt file must compete in the qualifying phase and try to get qualified for the quarter finals).

You can change the drivers names and strengths.

Again for now stay only with 2 drivers in this file (no more no less).

Setting up Content Manager

When you are done with the team files, it’s time to launch Content Manager and getting ready to race.

In order to make the app work, we need to adjust a few parameters :

For the track, you must use a Race of Champions track. The only one that I found is the Estadio ROC that you can download in the link below :https://www.assettoworld.com/track/vr506-estadio-rocA regular track will not work. If I find other ROC tracks, I will notify you.

Select the car : there are many cars used in the real Race of Champions events. For example : the KTM X-Bow, Toyota GT86, Ariel Atom, Rallycross cars, Polaris SSV, …The cars in a race must be identical (you choose the same car for the opponent)

You have to choose the “RACE” mode (or Quick Race), another mode will not work

Race duration : select only 2 laps

The opponent strength doesn’t matter anymore because we have already set the drivers strengths in the team files.

Grid type : select “Custom”

Set only one opponent : you race against only one opponent in the Race of Champion’s races.

Starting position : set it to 1st for the Estadio track (I don’t know why, but if I make AI starting first in this setting, it always crashes and never finish the race).

For the weather, use clear and dry

When you are done with the parameters, click “Go” and see you in-game.

How the app works in game

Once Assetto Corsa has launched, dive immediately into the Car Setup page and you will see the app window :

(If you installed the Nations Cup App, disable it by unchecking its Activate app checkbox)

You can see in the setup page the app window (with the title “Race of Champions”).

If not checked, check the Activate app checkbox to activate the app (and keep it checked).

You can use the “Restart event” button to cancel the current event and start a new one (you have to exit to Content Manager and start a session again).

We can see too that there are already races involving drivers. You can see who the winners are.

In the last line displayed on the app, we can see that we have a race now with a driver.

Now just click on the drive icon and let’s race !

Here, you must open the “Race of Champions” App window when driving (you can find it in the app shelf in the right).

This window displays the drivers and their teams competing in the race.

If the “ROC Nations Cup” app window is open, just close it.

Keep this Race of Champions app window open during the race.

When the race is finished, you return to Content Manager and you have just to click “Go” to continue with the event.

You can change cars between races but stay with the same car in the qualifying period. In quarter finals and further, you can change car in every race.

Before driving, always dive into the Car Setup page to see the event status and know who you are racing against next.

How the Drivers Cup work

There are 18 drivers competing in the qualifying phase and 2 drivers who are prequalified for the quarter finals (one of the prequalified drivers won the last Drivers Cup edition and one won the Nations Cup).

These 18 drivers are divided into 6 groups : A, B, C, D,E and F. One driver per group will be qualified for the quarter finals, and obviously the 2 others will be eliminated. Drivers in a group compete against each other in a few number of races and the  qualified driver is the one with the most number of wins in this qualifying phase. If there is a equal number of wins, the qualified driver is decided with the best race times.

So after the qualifying phase, there are 6 drivers qualified for the quarter finals.

For the quarter finals, with the prequalified drivers, there are therefore 8 drivers who will compete in direct elimination races in order to get in the semi-finals.

The same rule applies for the semi-finals and the final, with 4 drivers qualified for the semi, and 2 drivers competing in the final.

Here how it unfolded in the 2025 edition :
