I'm always really impressed when an artist can pull off an animation like this. I don't know how much really goes into each frame, and how much can be done with tooling around skeletons and such (like 3D animation does), but I can imagine it's a lot of work making everything look good even with tools. And if you're drawing each frame by hand, then... woof...
