Which do you prefer? Is the black text readable without the outline?

For the full game I'd like to add the option (as well as an option to make the text box black and text white) but for the demo I'm just looking for which is easier to read.

Maybe it’s just because I saw the images as small because I’m on my phone and couldn’t get them to zoom in, but the white-backed letters were easier to read. Or the opacity of the text box could be made a little stronger with just the black letters.

I also prefer the outline... but it seems we are in the minority. Would it be possible to have it as an option you can turn on or off via an options menu?

It’ll be an option for the full game, but I might not be able to figure out how to program that in in time for the demo. I did make the text box less transparent though.

In the demo, it ended up being super easy for me to read on my computer.
