You guys know the drill! Over the past 4 weeks we have seen the following:

  • Battlemage Updates Leaked

  • Intel basically confirmed they are winding down dGPU

  • Griffin Cove was leaked

  • Pictures of the RTX 5080 16GB were leaked

  • Arrow Lake launched to Historically Terrible Reviews & near zero sales

  • Pictures of Strix Halo were Leaked

  • AMD launched the 9800X3D to fantastic reviews

  • PlayStation 5 Pro Launched

...and you should expect Tom to leak new Nvidia info about a particularly disruptive product... You have 2 hours to submit below. Sorry for the short notice, but this is being rushed out because Tom has a funeral to attend tomorrow...

As much as I want to avoid politics, we gotta talk about tariffs. How will a 10%-20% tariff in the US affect the tech industry?

HAIFuncAItismBoi

The Sentiment towards Pat Gellsinger seemed to be extremely positive for several years there. But I get the feeling that with hindsight it was just blunder after blunder and people are finally realizing his leadership was probably not the correct choice. Do you think we were completely misguided in putting our faith in Pat?

Dark Side of the Force

Do you have any whisper about Strix Halo interconnect? Otherwise a constant draw of 20-30W for pkg power while watching youtube like Dragon range does not bode well for a laptop.

Richard P

After all the negativity this year, I fancy a 9800X3D and I might remortgage the house for a 5090 if it gets similar love. Such a strange industry, a couple of good products and optimism comes flooding back.......apart from Intel, Pat surely can't have long left, they'd be better hiring a master negotiator to get a good merger deal!

FloridaMan

From Digital Foundry testing, the PS5 Pro really does seem like a 6800 GPU, only about 30-35% improvement in frame rate or less with higher quality settings. Are we seeing some issues with CPU bottlenecking?

FloridaMan

How much performance do you think Intel can claw back with microcode improvements?

FloridaMan

Thoughts on M4 launches?

kjm015

Hello, Tom! Following recent shortfalls at Intel, you broached the possibility of Intel facing a buyout or merger by some other company. Of the potential buyers, which do you think is the most capable of delivering true competition to AMD in the client CPU space? Is DIY desktop doomed to become a de facto AMD monopoly forever?

Bangforbuck

Hey tom, just an FYI, Mindfactory could not have Sold any Core Ultra CPUs because they werent stocking them. WCCF tech did, like always, not do any research in what they post and just copied the Mindfactory scraper data of techephiphany without checking if Core ultra cpus are available. BTW as far as i know they are available since today and have sold 30 despite core ultra being shit.

Dark Side of the Force

Do you think if the Ryzen IO die support GMI-Wide or not, and if it does why AMD doesn't just made a different substrate for 1 CCD parts to take advantage of it?

Lo_Res_Gamer

One thing I noticed in the HUB review of the 9800X3D was in their power consumption charts, the 7800X3D consumed significantly less power (like 20-30%) for only 10% less performance in the two games they sampled. Is the 9800X3D really giving us anything more than a more generous power envelope and clocks vs. the previous gen? Not to minimize the significant performance gains in some games, bui for the X3D's it seems like Zen 5% became Zen 5-10%.

Sorry for your loss. The M4 Mac mini looks to be a killer at the price point it is at. Even though I don’t need it, I briefly considered it especially with my student discount it’s $499. Do you think this is the effect of Strix halo/other mini pc’s from places like minis forum? Do you think this will affect the prices of halo products as well considering halo mini pc’s probably won’t be “cheap” anytime soon.

Hi Tom, for someone looking to move up from 4k60 gaming to 4k120, how would you break down a budget between display and video card? Let's assume the rest of the PC can handle 120fps gaming.

Benjamin Cannon

Is there any update on the next gen LGA-1851 CPU, or is it only Arrow Lake-Rebrand? It is possible for Panther Lake-S using Intel 18A at the end of 2025 or at least a new stepping for Arrow Lake late 2025

FloridaMan

One of the biggest surprises was the 9800x3d outperforming the 9700x in productivity applications. This bodes well for the 9950x3d, and I suspect it will eliminate the remaining arguments for the core ultra 9 285 that is ahead by 2-3% in a few multithreaded production applications

Dark Side of the Force

Since Strix Halo use same CPU die as the desktop Ryzen, any chance they chuck 3Dvcache on it to do a maxed out souped up version of it? I think there's might be some grounds in that since Craft Computing benchmark with a 4070ti shows still massive 1% uplift. Not to mention with the 9800X3D review, seemingly only downside to X3D now is the cost of adding that cache.

Kinihun25

It's seems like something is off with the PS5 Pro, from leaks the PS5 Pro should be 45% or more faster but from Digital Foundry testing it's more like a 6800 and not a 7800XT. Maybe games aren't fully taking advantage of the console just yet.

Sad XTX 999

Now that zen 5 is fixed, do you still think it’s appropriate for a “relaunch”? Looking at comments and discourse with the 9800x3d’s launch with new charts and graphs showing the improvements to the non x3d parts. It seems to me that people have stopped harboring negativity towards AMD, that or the core ultra’s are just drawing all the negative attention to them leaving non for other products.

Joseph Kelly

Hello Tom, What are the odds of the upcoming x3d CPUs to have BOTH CCDs have V-Cache? I don't see any reason not too since no performance is lost anymore with it being on the bottom.

Cleansweep

Do you think we'll see a split in V-cache designs from AMD into professional and gaming lines? Based on Dr. Ian Cuttress' video on the topic, it seems there's a ton of benefits for V-cache on top, while V-cache on bottom only benefits thermals, which only seems to benefit gamers and maybe people trying to make 8 core prosumer rigs.

AdanFS

What can intel do to get a great gaming i5 (ultra 5) again? Its pretty clear gamers dont care about 8 e cores, and the best gaming chips are binned as i9s with 16 e cores.

Lucas

Hi Tom. No questions, just my condolences.

Chris Rijk

One recent rumour that surprised me was the suggestion of AMD buying Intel or otherwise merging with them. Let’s say such a thing actually happened for whatever reason, what parts of Intel do you think AMD should keep longer term? Just the fabs and the good engineers? Or are there specific products or designs that you think are worth developing further?

Imo, the first thing I'd go for is OLED as long as you have a 7800xt or better, from there it's up to you whether you'd rather save money, turn up settings, or if you're using a TV, go for a bigger/brighter one. As someone with a few of them, for TV OLED gaming trust me, you'll be happiest with an LG For monitors, it didn't seem to me there was much difference between any of them and I think the MSI OLED was a few hundred $ cheaper than the others. More information would be helpful, but I would sacrifice a lot to get to OLED. I am often taking advantage of the full 4k 144 of my TV with a 7800xt, between older games and afmf in newer ones. My PC was only about 1/3 the price of the TV and im happy. Another thing to note, the next Gen video cards will be out relatively soon, but even if you buy now to take advantage of sales, it's easier to sell a used video card than a used display

Chris Rijk

Let’s say that you got a 9800X3D for playing games with your 4090. Would you overclock it as much as possible to get every last frame out of it or would you underclock it to see how much you could reduce the power consumption without significantly affecting frame rates?

Nicholas Buckner

Is the funeral you are attending tomorrow for Intel's profitability?

Woody Chang

As the 9800X3D appears to have sold out everywhere on day 1, what is your sense of the supply situation for that part given Black Friday/Cyber Monday is only a few weeks away? I have a feeling that in the US, people will want to upgrade sooner because of likely tariffs and want to get in before prices start to go really high.

Cypto_AI_TechBro_Scam

What are you hearing about the future of xbox ? Do you think they will cancell all their future hardware plans ?

shea

Do you think chiplets are making it easier for amd to make udna products with different memory controllers for hbm and GDDR7? Was the memory controller a leading reason for the RDNA/CDNA split in the first place?

Sad XTX 999

With many major games dropping Linux support recently, do you think this will harm valve and the steam deck with its future successor(s)? So far it’s just online multiplayer games claiming “security”. With the push for even single player games to constantly be online do you think this is a slow domino effect?

Sherif Lotfy

What will computer part supply stocks look like in the US with Trump winning the election? Will there be less stock overall?

Sherif Lotfy

Hey Mooreslawisdead, What have you heard about Zen 6 so far? I feel as though Zen 5 is an easy pass, and we should wait for Zen 6 for higher and stronger performance, especially if they are going to have 32 cores

Ralph Ashley

With all the issues with Arrow lake and intel seemingly looking at dumping their fab business (German Fab was to make the 18A chips) while too “wiggling” out of the TSMC chip contract, which would delay the TSMC intel 18A chips which include advancements from 20A. What is the probability that the issues have to do with the new atomic-scale technology of RibonFET/PowerVia within 20A and 18A, and that Pat is willing to dump the fabs quickly because the atomic-scale tech just doesnt work after all the time and money spent on it?
