We'll admit it - we missed Intel's press conference! However, since said conference aired we've received some new details about Arrow Lake mobile performance that's worth talking about...and we also just want to remove this blind spot in coverage before next week...

So, what did you guys think of Intel's CES 2025 Press Conference?  What Intel-related questions do you have from this past week? You have ~2 hours to submit! (Sorry for the short notice, we really weren't sure which story to focus on for this week's Die Shrink)

Please talk about qualcomms claims against intels battery life LOL

Will Intel elect an AI to be its new CEO? It would be cost effective, make shareholders happy(cuz AI), and Intel could claim that they have achieved TRUE AI leadership!

All Signs Show, that high end Laptops still wont use AMD but Intel in their designs. How big is the High End market really and does it even concern AMD as they now can just sell Strix Halo with massive margins.

Cleansweep

Honestly, the only things I really remembered about it were that the co-CEO was at least talking humble, and being surprised that Intel was going to try making a Strix Halo competitor. They didn't have much to show, so them being honest about having a down year was refreshing. Only thing that could've made it good probably would've been announcing a whole new board running the company.

DEEK

The power efficiency improvement over Raptor Lake+++++++ is decent where do you think Intel's HX lineup will compete with Strix Halo? Ultra 9 vs Strix 12 core in CPU? Would these even be comparable depending on binning and yield? Is Intel willing to hemorrhage more money to keep high-end laptop?

QuickJumper

You know it's bad when even Tom forgets about Intel. On the other hand if you really want to know ho intel is doing ask Dell.

BaconHouse Collective

This isn't aligned with CES but I don't think Intel can resist spinning up a new division they can't afford to make a product that doesn't have the margin to pay off the start costs. What will this next optane like product be?

Planet 9

The presentation felt simple and relatively Humble, do you think this is a showcase of a new understanding towards their situation?

Stained Class

It seems like overall, AMD is getting into many more laptops than before. Tom, what kind of gains do you think AMD can make in the broad laptop market? It sounded like the mobile x3D parts will actually be available, unlike prior gen.
