Does internet in Australia still sucks like in 2006 when I was there for a few months?

Hello Tom and Tim, my question is how does AMD get around Intel and Nvidia paying off AIBs for gpus and motherboards to have them offer a smaller selection of models of AMD products for literally everything. Everytime I see a launch year the Nvidia and Intel product line always have more models than their AMD counterparts. From different styles and coloring of motherboard and gpu models. Heck gigabyte does not have a single Aorus Ice version of any of the 9000 series while every one of the 50 series has one it seems.

In 2016, crypto mining caused the 10 series to become pretty hard to get. In 2020, Nvidia was already planning on not supplying the market well before covid happened, this plus all the other factors created a dearth of GPUs. Now in 2025, Nvidia's plan to not supply the consumer GPU market has caused a similar price hike. Do you think this is a pattern starting to emerge and to what end do you think this represents for primarily Nvidia but also AMD?

Hello Tom and Tim. What do you think about the fact that Sony is working on integrating a custom version of FSR 4 that uses INT8 on PS5 Pro (and potentially PS6)? To you, does this feel like an indictment of PiSSeR’s image quality or affirming how great FSR 4’s image quality is, or both?

Hi Tom, how do you think RDNA4 will age given the fact UDNA and Playstation 6 will be released in the near future?

Since the average FPS, and even 1% lows, can be lacking for quantifying smoothess of framerate, have you considered including 0.1% lows in your testing methodology? Also, what do you think about having a measure across different GPUs to measure frametime stability? This would highlight discrepancies between present and past GPUs in terms of their ability to deliver fluid gameplay. I understand that there are difficulties and run-to-run variances for this, but there is no one else doing it, so this could be an interesting opportunity for you.

Hi Tom and Tim, With the recent leak that Medusa Halo will be launching in H2 2027, how do you see the high end APU market playing out with NVIDIA looking likely to start competing in that segment?

Hi Tom and Tim, What is the biggest opportunity in the market that you see yet to be fulfilled by all major players?

Question Generated By JensenGPT

Good day, gents. My question is; Does PSSR have a future past PS6? PSSR was created by Sony because Sony was developing the PS5 Pro at a time when AMD was adamant that they did not need machine learning to make a good upscaler. Sony disagreed, and because there was no off the shelf AMD hardware or software to use for this, they needed to design their own machine learning hardware and then an upscaler that could utilize it. Fast forward a few years, and now AMD has not only pivoted on their opinion of machine learning upscalers, but Project Amethyst also came into being. There now exists off the shelf AMD machine learning hardware designs and a very high quality upscaler that is designed to work with it. FSR 4 blows PSSR out of the water in every metric, so Sony obviously wants to use it on their console. However, due to the PS5 Pro having completely different machine learning hardware than RDNA4, Sony can't just use FSR 4 natively on PS5 Pro. They are going to be using the neural network and training data from FSR 4 to create a new version of PSSR. This is going to take them well over a year, so we won't see any games on PS5 Pro use this new FSR 4-ified version of PSSR until 2026. So back to my original question: Wouldn't it make sense for Sony to just use AMD's machine learning hardware on PS6 rather than another custom solution so PS6 natively supports FSR 4 and up, rather than continuing to spend the time and money to keep developing PSSR? The entire point of a collaboration like Project Amethyst is to get rid of redundancies like this, and I'm sure Sony would love it if they didn't have to put in over a year's worth of work just to get some version of FSR 4 working on their console. The only counterpoint I can think for this is that the cross gen period between PS5 and PS6 will likely be extremely long, meaning the PS5 Pro will be here to stay for a long time, so Sony will be supporting and developing PSSR whether they want to or not. Could we see Radeon getting anything out of Sony making this new version of PSSR and sharing their work? I know I asked something similar on the last Loose Ends, but I also wanted to ask this on Broken Silicon because of the more conversational format.

On comparing dlss vs fsr image quality, I would imagine that comparing the 9070xt and the 5090 is unfair unless a frame limiter is used. Trails and ghosting remains visible for a certain number of frames, so the card with a higher frame rate will give less apparent ghosting. This also poses a question about the possibility of some sort of implementation like Radeon Boost, which could retain a shorter history of frames during fast movement and hold more when there is no movement. Kind of like how those professional programs that take a full minute to pathtrace a full resolution frame work

Hey Tom and Tim, with how bad the GPU market is right now, and Zen 6 off into 2016, do you see AMD revealing Krackan APUs on AM5 at Computex? The 8000G series is getting a bit long in the tooth, and with tarrifs looming, it seems like we need something to fill the GPU hole in the market.

How Bad are Intels 1851 Sales and how Bad does it hit the AIBs. All of them made like 20 Boards for Intel's new platform. Still pre builds often use self-made Boards.

With Tom's latest Zen 6 leaks in mind, do you think those apu's might finally provide that next-gen jump Valve wants to make a Steamdeck 2?

What’s the state of Intel? Has anything changed since the headlines? Has the problem gotten worse or have they fixed it? I saw my first ultra series cpu at my location a few days ago I’m sure there’s been plenty that have flown through I haven’t seen but I’m curious if you have any sales figures since I’ve seen more RX 6600’s than the latest and “greatest” from team blue.

Looks like Intel has finalized the second close of their NAND IP sale to SK Hynix recently, do you happen to to know if they gave Optane as part of this sale?

Regarding your recent Medusa leak. Might the addition of LP Zen cores to Olympic Ridge/Gator Range be specifically aimed at the Laptop side of things to enhance battery runtimes? Dragon Range did very badly in this regard and I can't really think about big advantages for desktop. Or am I missing something?

Hi, Tim. Have you had contact with Vincent Teoh from HDTVTest on youtube to exchange experience on evaluating screens. His channel is more focused on TVs, but these days that's just a monitor with proper speakers and a whole bunch of useless "smart" features nobody wants.

Hi Tim, the video you did comparing ray tracing in games was one of the best pieces of content I've watched all year. Which do you think happens first: path tracing becomes viable in the enthusiast tier or upscaling is so good it makes high refresh rate at high visual quality possible in rasterized games for integrated graphics?

Hi Tim, now that DLSS/FSR 4 are good, do you think 8K gaming might make a comeback? Going from a high DPI laptop display to a 4K desktop monitor is still pretty rough for text clarity.

Valve is rumoured to be building a standalone VR device (AKA Deckard). Rumour is it will run Linux and run Windows games with proton, like a VR steamdeck. For a while I had assumed it would be an AMD APU, but recent rumours suggest an ARM CPU. While somewhat suprising at first, this would make sense as most VR developers are now targeting the quest (Qualcomm CPU). Valve has also been caught testing emulating VR games on ARM. Could a soundwave variant go into Valve Deckard? My guess is it started as AMD, like the steamdeck, but pivoted. Do you think Valve could be influencing sound waves development? PS. I would like to see Sadly its Bradly come back to talk about some of this stuff

Hi Tom and Tim, More and more, we're seeing 1440p as the new 1080p, and while higher resolution seems to have been a trend since long before I was invested in PC gaming, I wonder if there is more of a paradigm shift with Upscaling tech getting as good as it is. I'd propose that there could be a change in perspective towards how to balance your monitor's native resolution thanks to advancements in upscaling technology, especially among the mainstream gaming crowd, who might not scrutinize every specification, detail, and review. Overall, what is your perspective on the differences in experience/enjoyment between 1440p and 4k monitors at comparable pricing?

Hey TimTom, I know Tim is no longer a laptop reviewer, but can we compare AMD's current laptop roadmap with Intel's offerings in the past. Tom's most recent video indicated a 6-9 month cadence for new laptop chips, and i don't know if Intel ever did the same. why isn't AMD following their server strategy where they are still supplying large volume of Zen3 in favor of pushing a new laptop chip as soon as they can roll it out?

Planet 9

Hi Tim, In a Die Shrink from January 2024 Tom and Dan discussed how hard it is for reviewers to properly quantify the need to have competent vram for a gpu. The 5070 review was focused on this, so how did producing that review push this conundrum and change your ideas going forward?

Prior is the theme 999

AMD recently came out and said the 9070’s have sold 10x more than predecessors in the first week and sentiment is changing even in casual places. Is the train finally leaving the station for marketshare or is it all for naught once nvidia decides to come back after the AI bubble and the masses flock back to the leather jacket man? Despite all the problems going on with Blackwell it still seems like people will still default to nvidia regardless if the prices were better and everything else being equal.

With the PC market facing multiple challenges in recent years—from the crypto crash affecting GPU pricing to COVID-related supply chain disruptions, and now several major game studios experiencing difficulties—what factors do you see as most critical for a meaningful recovery in this sector?

Tim-Tom. An often overlooked thing for OLED reviews is VRR flicker. What are your thoughts on it and how does it personally impact your recommendations when it comes to monitor tech? I know certain people aren't sensitive to it and nor does it pop up in every title but I find it jarring myself.

jahav

How do you see future of eGPUs? Market for laptops seems mostly dead, but it could be pretty useful for Steam Deck.

Wirerope

whats your opinion on PSSR and FSR 4? console gaming yt believe FSR4 came from PSSR. while PC YT just see PSSR as software FSR that Sony uses to control updates for devs.

With steam OS nearing a full release how much of a headache will that add to testing new hardware?
