Hey guys, Do you think that Valve should release a miniPC with the same APU and hardware specs as Steam Deck 2, maybe with some allowances for minor upgrades like replaceable RAM? It really feels like the Steam Deck has become the bar for PC developers to target, so Valve providing a definitive "this can run just about anything" miniPC running SteamOS would have profound impact on the budget PC gaming space.

Good day. In the newest head to head Video from Jarrods Tech he compared Core Ultra 275HX with the Ryzen 9955HX. It shows a good head to head where AMD is a bit better at productivity while Intel was much better with battery life. Is it generally a win for consumers that both options are so good or what is your take on that matter.

How do you think Steam OS will open up, a desktop mode or the Big Screen experience it has? Or configurable?

Gob

Hi Tom and DR, Microsoft is clearly worried about SteamOS. What features do you think Valve needs to bring to desktop to make SteamOS a viable Windows replacement? What are your thoughts on Microsoft’s new gaming focus on Windows? The handheld gaming mode for Windows looks to be a step in the right direction, but do you think this new gaming mode will be enough to keep people from switching to SteamOS assuming Valve has made it a workable OS for gaming and productivity? I went back to Windows 10 from 11 for performance reasons and to reduce frustration with Microsoft’s bullshit. Do you think SteamOS will be ready for desktop in time for me to avoid going back to Windows 11?

I can not wait dump Windows. It is so junky now with all the spying, ads, and sponsored stuff. I'm really hoping Steam OS for desktop comes to fruition sooner rather than later. I won't be looking back.

From a gaming prospective, how long are we going to wait before we have a good APU with the performance of a midrange GPU+CPU on the market? If you have something in mind, what is it?

AngelOfCake

You're looking for a ryzen ai max 395. You'll probably have to sell a kidney to afford one if you can find something with one.

Christian Visconti

I'm looking for upcoming Apu expexially. Something that will revolutionise gaming with performance and availability. And a good upscaler to be future proof. so RDNA4 / Xe2 or Xe3 / AdaLovelace (or newer).

Hello gents Any news on the xbox handheld and how might it stack up to a ryzen HX 370 handheld? Toying with the idea of buying a new handheld but I already have one with a Ryzen 7 7840U. Would it be more prudent to wait for another generation to pull the trigger? Have a great week gentlemen!

Hello Tom and Deck Ready! I have been a Windows power user for a long time, often using my computer to make mods for various games, edit videos and in general relying on a wide assortment of software I wasn't comfortable trying to replace or adapt to Linux via WINE, etc. I've been daily driving Linux Bazzite on a Strix Point laptop (AI 9 365, 32GB) for several months now, though, and I think I'm changing my mind. I consider myself to be a Linux noob, and to say I'm satisfied with the experience is to put it very mildly. Bazzite increased my usable performance over Windows 11 by about 15-20% in the games I play, making things like Helldivers 2 and Resident Evil 4 actually playable on the go for me (immensely satisfying). Battery life when doing light tasks also increased 2x or better versus Windows. Such a difference. Proton and WINE work surprisingly well, and anything I can't do properly in Bazzite my qemu Windows VM can do instead, so apart from a couple of games with compatibility trouble my switchover was easy. After Win10 goes end of life in October, I'm putting in the effort to switch my main desktop over to Bazzite and I don't think I'm ever looking back. Given how awful Windows 11 is becoming, how much do you think Linux (especially gaming distros like Bazzite and SteamOS) will start cutting into Microsoft's user base? Will enthusiasts be the first to lead the charge, or do you think normies might actually be warming up to the idea with the likes of the Steam Deck getting mass recognition? Thanks for your time, and sorry for the long post!

What does the next gen Strix halo processor look like? I would assume it would be similar to Playstation 6 in graphics. To me next gen strix could be the ultimate home compute appliance; game, AI, work.

Mozria

Do you mean Medusa Halo? Strix Halo is already out, and it is good.

Hey guys! Forgive me if you have already answered this question, but at this point we know Zen 6 is going to likley be on am5, but do we know anything about whether Zen 7 will tey to stay on am5 or if we will end up getting a new socket? Thanks!

Hi Tom and Deck Ready, How do you think the “Steam Deck Verified” will or should change as the Steam OS landscape grows and evolves? Such as being more general, “AMD apu verified” or staying tight to Valve Hardware.
